I really don't think Bush is as bad as the majority makes him out to be. I pray for him, but not as much as I should. I liked Clinton and I like Bush. I think Clinton was good for his time: He kept the economy in check before massive spending took over. I think Bush is good because he's averting the Jihad from hitting American shores where we're woefully unprepared for it. It's no longer about [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ing them off so much they'll Jihad, they've been Jihading ever since Israel took back their land and won't stop until Israel and everyone supporting it is destroyed. They want to convert the world to Islam through hate and war. Christians want to convert the world to Christianity through love.

Even if the Christian right cannot select a suitable canidate, the American Christian still will be able to vote in the election, so we still have a lot of sway and cannot be ignored.

I don't think that the conservative Christian voters will be so easily duped this time around, given the current field of Republican candidates.

Sam Brownback is a member of the religious right and if the group is not interested in endorsing him, then they're in trouble because the rest of the Republican candidates appear to be just paying lip service. Is anti-Catholicism alive and well in American politics? I'm not going to call it that because John Kerry managed to get his party's nomination. I'm willing to bet they're ignoring Sam Brownback because he's not a frontrunner in the polls. It's still early, but I guess that's politics for you.

I think it would serve the RR well to spend less energy on politics, and more on their congregations. As the old saying goes, you can't legislate morality, but you can turn people's hearts and make a meaningful change in society. Politicians will always reflect society's values, and the more biblically based our society is, the better the chance of having honest, Christian people running for office.

"They want to convert the world to Islam through hate and war. Christians want to convert the world to Christianity through love." JamesSanger

LOL...is this comment for real?

Oh, and to the article...good, I"m glad the RR doesn't have who to turn to, maybe they'll focus on the CHURCH a little more instead of politics. Maybe they'll realize that candidates and the party that used to search for the RR vote was just paying lip service and really didn't care about the issues only the RR cares about, which shouldn't be legislated by gvmnt anyway. So, actually, I am happy this has happened, about time!

Maybe Dobson wants to abandon ministry and run for president next election, Falwell for VP, the little own RR theocracy. Lovely lol

Ron Paul is the only candidate so far from ANY of the parties that I would support for office. Of course, considering that he actually would uphold the Constitution, he probably would not receive any support from the "conservative" camps. Honestly, George Washington was right to strongly warn the American people against partisanship. Political parties haven't done any good for America. We would be much better off if people voted for a candidate based solely on their qualifications, and not their political affiliation.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now, LOL!

Well upholding the Constitution would mean dismantling the "imperial presidency" which has existed since Roosevelt.

There are too many with vested interests in a very strong presidency who would not let that happen.

Perhaps when we start voting our faith and quit making covenant with the servants of darkness , the world will start to turn around ....

How can you call your self a christian and support a prosame sex marriage , progayand lesbian, proabortion, progambling, propornography ( 1 corinthians 6.9) candidate ?

How can you believe a bunch of rats running from the ship of state that they helped to lauch at 9-11 ?

This election is deteriorating into a liberal jerk of circles , no answers , just circular rhetoric and quite a bit of fecal coliform & mud being slung ...

I would love for the Christian Right to get Rick Santorum nominated as the Republican candidate for President.

At that point, either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton would be a shoe-in! :amen:

Real simple: I'm a Christian, and I'm absolutely opposed to government regulating who can and cannot marry, who people can and cannot have sex with whom (assuming both parties can give informed consent), what people can and cannot see, how people choose to spend their money, what people choose to drink, or which drugs people choose to take.

With the caveat that if people engage in nonconsensual sex (such as sex with a minor, rape, etc.) or cause injury or destruction to property or life while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law (and cannot use the fact that they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs as a mitigating circumstance).

What's so hard about that?

Specific passages, please?

I don't find a single passage in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John or Acts where Jesus says the government should take upon itself the role of regulating peoples' moral behavior.
