Christian Lawyers

I am in West Australia and am desperate to contact a Christian lawyer who deals in criminal law.
I have been charged with the crime of stealing as a servant and have pleaded not guilty to the charges (because Im not) and the lawyer that I have at present is not to my mind doing enough of a job to defend me. She has also just told me that they can not defend me unless I give them the money up front, but has not worked out how much she wants yet. I have been paying into a trust account with them only for a couple of weeks as I have just started a new job and can now afford to pay as before I was on legal aid.
I do not have a large sum of cash available (she is talking in the vicinity of $5000 - $8000) but can afford to pay about $400 per fortnight till paid off.
I have prayed about this case and so has my whole church and I do feel a sense of peace and the assurance that God has the whole thing in hand, but I have said this to my lawyer and I think she thinks I am a fruitcake.
I really feel now that I should be handling this through a Christian lawyer who at least I can communicate with. Does anyone know of a Christian Lawyer preferably in the Goldfields area (as this is where I am) or in WA who may be able to put me on to someone locally.
Hope someone out there can help me.

Praying that justice will be done. I'm sorry but I don't know anyone who could help you.

I pray that something will happen for you. I also know the nasty feeling inside when someone has you up on suspected burglary charges (even though I was not guilty) having gone through a police investigation around this time last year.

Since then, it's been virtually a hermit's life for me. Cynical, but true.

I'm so sorry to read this temanawa. Sadly, it can happen I guess. I agree with Neenie.
This is what she is searching for. But, I believe justice will hold as there is absolute evidence of proof to consider. They have to prove beyond a doubt that you are guilty.
And, if I were you, I'd start looking for the proof of your innocence.
Forget the charges. Just start providing proof that you could not have committed the alledged crime.
And...present that proof to a reliable solicitor. No matter if the solicitor is christian or not. The prayer of your church will uphold you throughout the courtcase, and your prayers will be answered.
Remember, no solicitor can go by prayers. ALL solicitors must go by evidence.
And, go by proof. So far, you have not been proven guilty. Remember, you must work with your solicitor to prove your innocence.
This is now in the Hands of God.

Well, for what it's worth, I'm a law student who has done Criminal Law extremely competently, who is also a Christian. Obviously, it's not completely what you're looking for, but I might be able to give you some kind of guidance regarding the general principles that are involved here.

Obviously, it would be good to know what the substance of the claims against you are. Until this occurs, you'll have a hard time refuting any allegations. Remember also that the burden of proof lies heavily upon the prosecution.

Anyway, PM me if there is any way in which I may be able to give you any kind of insight.

Regards,

I know some christian lawyers in brisbane, but they mainly work in family law. As someone who is also facing some ... I guess scurrulous ... charges at present, I can understand how you feel. It's difficult to know who to trust/believe in. I'm relying on legal aid, but I got to choose the lawyer, and I'm pretty happy with him so far.

I hope and pray that you get it all sorted out.
