  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I got home yesterday after a hard days work. I was looking forward to sit down infron of the comp, and relax.

Sometimes i like to turn on the radio while working on the comp, so that i can hear some music.

I must say, that i wasn't expecting much from the radio, because i know that there is a lot of christian material being sent, which i have no interest in hearing.

We have 3 radio stations here.

I turned on the first one, and there was a priest speaking about homosexuality.

I turned on the second one, and that was about a mans spiritual journey.

I turned on the third and last one. This was a taped recording from a church.

Well, i then went to turn on the only TV channel we have in this country. What did i see?? Inside a church!!

All of the media i could see or listen to, only had christian material, and it's like this all day every day.

The first radio station and the TV channel, are required by law to send christian material. The other 2 radio stations are owned by christians.

When you go to puplic school for 10 years, you are required to meet for a morning sermon every day, and christianity is a required subject for 8 years.

Anyone with the slightest idea of psychology is, knows that this affects people. Religion is being forced on people.

When you think about it. Is there absolutely any reason whatsoever for christians to hear this all day?? They are already saved!

Where is the moral in this??

Again, I'm curious about exactly where you live. I'm assuming it's probably a very small country or perhaps you live in a very isolated region.

We all do need to know where this is, at least a country or a state name. Where I live we've got one of the few Christian stations in the country that plays the harder rock music with Christian lyrics. Also rap is available. Usually they don't preach, but most Christian rock stations don't have that sort of thing. You sound like you're in some remote region. Most the stations around here that aren't Christian have songs that I consider garbage. I don't want to hear about some gang person shooting people or adulterous stuff.
Well, what kind of music format do you prefer? Go buy some tapes or CD's at the store. If you don't have a CD player but you hae a CD-Rom drive more than likely your computer can play it.
As for your last comment, well I prefer Christian infiltration to Nazi infiltration. If you feel it is militant behavior or harmful, as in they want to conduct the crusades again or something then don't listen or complain to someone if you can.

One more thing, it isn't a moral, for most people. They want something to listen to that they can agree with rather than some of the immoral stuff on the rest of the shows. And brainwashing, not really, it's a choice. They figure if someone listens to it and thinks they want to be Christian more power to them. You can't brainwash someone unless they're totally gullible. Ever see commercials on TV? I don't buy stuff because it's advertised, I buy it because I want it or think it is something good for me. Half of the commercials on TV actually turn me off from buying the product and some of them are so stupid I don't even want to listen. However, there are people who do and I feel sorry for them, if they think that just because someone or soemthing recommends something they should buy it.
My suggestion, don't believe because you feel you have to, do it because it is the right thing to do. If it is not right for you at this stage of life, so be it.

The moral of the story is the you think differently to others and choose to live your life differently and you have difficulty trusting other people to make good decisions. You seem to exhibit some fear about the gullibilty of other human beings, in that your not really sure whether other people are making the same choices as you and are concerned that they are not applying the same criteria to decision making as yourself. This has become somewhat of a deep seated suspicion towards others who think differently to you. The outward signs of this suspicion are shown in your characterisation of christianity as 'infiltrating' your life. You perceive it as a threat and describe this threat in military terms and in doing so have begun to see christianity as 'the enemy'. In a sense, you've 'demonised' them so that you can think about them in an abstracted de-humanised form, thereby feeling justified in your hostility towards them.

Hehe sorry, i forgot to mention which country =)

It's the Faroe Islands. A small group of islands located in Europe, Scandinavia. Population 47.000.

I do not look at it as a choice when you learn it in school and all the media through childhood. Any psychologist would agree with me.

If it was a genuine choise, i think we would see more than 2 muslims here.

Well, of course you have a choise, but we know that no one will make the choise, because we have never heard of anything else. We don't see any other options.

What other theory would there be to why diffirerent religions are all regional??

Yes, you are right. I do see it as a treath. Because it has impact on my life.
Christianity is a part of our amendment, the law which all other laws are based on.

The Danish queen is required by law to be christian. LOL, where's the choice there??
We are a part of Denmark.

I don't care what people believe, but i do not want it forced upon my life, and i certanly don't want it showed down my potential childrens throats.

The political system here is somewhat based on the bible.

I don't see why i should not see it as a treath, when the faith of the economy of this country rests on how the bible is interpreted.

It's one thing to say that when you live in a huge country with a thousand television channels (and maybe you don't; I'm just assuming). But when you live on an island that has one TV channel and three radio stations, is it really unfair to expect them to broadcast something other than Christian programs sometimes?

To the OP: I would suggest moving out as soon as possible, if that's an option. This place sounds doesn't sound very friendly toward non-Christians. Morning sermons required by public schools? Geez.

Why move out? If you want to change it, then why move out? Why not work on changing it so there is freedom of religion?

It's not right to have all available media outlets have only one sort of content. But it is also not immoral to broadcast things with religious content. However, working to get more TV and radio stations might be a good idea.

This is just for curiosity's sake, as I like to learn about other cultures: Can you get satilite or cable TV and radio? And is there media available over the 'net that interests you in your area, or is that censored?

Runilo,

Please don't take this as a mean spirited comment becuase that is not my intention however...

If I were in a position like you are and was extremely uncomfortable with being bombarded by Christian material 24/7 I believe that the very last thing I would ever want to do with my time is join the top internet site for Christians and spend that precious time posting to a predominantly Christian forum.

But hey... maybe that's just me. Go figure.

Yeah, were taking over!!! Well, it would be hard for me to see it your way, cause I am heavily biased. I for one would love to bombard the world with the message of Christ. I am not really concerned with the fact that you like it or not. I desire for you to accept Christ.

Is it moral? Yes, there is nothing wrong or illegal about it. The media is made up of businesses, they need to make money. To make more money, they need to expand, especailly if they believe in what the company is about.
