Christian Ghost Hunters

As the title says, There seems to be an online trend these days, For christians to put up websites claiming to be paranormal researchers.

Some of these sites propose to use the titles of their websites to lure people into listening to the gospel. But after much reading on a large number of these sites, I have come to the conclusion that this is not the case. The majority of these people actually believe in ghosts. And are mixing church doctrine, With new age beliefs.

What I would like to know, Is what are your particular beliefs on the subject?
Should we shun these activities, Or run down to radio shack, And put our little ghost hunting kits together, And get famous on the internet?

I like the Ghosthunters show. I don't necessarily believe that what they sometimes encounter are human spirits, but it's an interesting show. I lived too long in a house that was haunted to completely denounce ghosts, but I don't believe in human spirits existing here on earth.

The spirit in my old house was relatively harmless. It wouldn't let my teenaged son keep his axe in the house - kept knocking it off the wall where it hung. It also didn't like it when we left the cover off the sewing machine - it always put it back on, even when I left it off intentionally because I wasn't finished. And it loved to roll toilet paper rolls across the floor - even when we sat it on its end, the tp roll would flip over and roll across the room, then roll back and pop back up.

Never had any other problems, and it was almost funny, telling people, "Oh, don't worry. That's just Fred." (My son named the ghost "fred" for some reason)

However, Contacting (or trying to contact) the dead is expressedly forbidden in the Bible, as is summoning non-human spirits.

I watched the show for a while, And a number of other shows like it. I quickly became aggravated though, After seeing tons of things that I could easily disprove.

I agree that the bible expressly forbids summoning of spirits(Provoking is the same thing), And have visited tons of websites on the subject. It seems that the only time christians can use the bible to prove it's ok to do this, Is when they start twisting scriptures to mean whatever they want them to mean.
They say things like "Jesus was walking on the water, and the disciples said, Is this a ghost", So obviously ghosts exist as a separate entity from demons. Which in their minds makes it ok to summon those particular spirits.

If I remember correctly, The bible has specificly stated for us not to summon any kinds of spirits. And even gives an example of what happened when samuel was summoned. Even the spirit conjurer was scared, Cause it wasnt the usual stage act. but a real spirit, And of course, it was not samuel that showed up, but a demon in his likeness.

You guys will have to bear with me, If I don't make total sense, I spent too much time in the sun yesterday.

What I see when i watch any ghost seeking show, Is the usage of many summoning, And divination tools, As well as modern devices, Designed with the same purpose in mind. The older ones ive seen are, Tarot cards, Pendulums, Ouija boards, Divinging rods, Reading tea leaves, Many many Wicca items, And a good amount of Magick, That I know is directly taken from occult practices. The modern items, Are things like the infrared cameras, EMF detectors, EVP recorders, Multi channel radio scanners, Detuned television sets.

It seems that literally anything can be used as a means to summon spirits, And they are throwing it at us full force these days.

I'm sure that the people involved with these shows, Actually believe that they are "provoking" deceased humans. And I hope that they will actually come in contact with the power of God at some point. And take a good long look at what they are doing.

The fact is that, God specifically states that, We are not left here on earth after we die. That leaves only demons, And angels. And I have never seen it written, That angels participate in these rituals, That leaves me with only one answer!

I grew up in the occult, And because of my parents involvement with it, We lived in many "haunted" houses. I spent a great deal of my life, Trying to figure out what was really going on in the spirit world, Because the entities I was familiar with, Did not seem very human to me. After many years, I got my answer.

But I am interested in what everyone else thinks about all of this, And would like to hear your views, And/Or testimonies.

Also, If someone would like to quote a ton of bible verses about this subject, I would be happy to have them, No energy today.

While I agree with most of your post, I do not believe that infrared cameras, EMF detectors, etc. provoke or summon any spirits, but merely record what is already there.

Yeah I suppose so, But the ouija board only shows you the letters they select, The pendulum only swings the way they want it to, Ect.

That's not to say an infra red camera is a satanic device, Just that it's being used in the wrong way. I have a couple infrared cameras, And I decided that I was going to see what it was like to walk around in my basement in the dark with it running.

It made me nervous, That I was going to smack right into a wall, But I was never frightened that a ghost was going to show up, I don't believe they are real, And a demon surely isn't going to break cover, And reveal himself on camera. It goes against their entire plan. So I got a lot of footage of my thirty year old basement walls, And me tripping on the staircase on the way out.

Keep in mind, That I do not condone conjuring spirits, And I wasn't trying to do that either. I just wanted to see how hard it is to walk around using a cameras viewscreen. And I can tell you, that it is creepy, Because you can only see like six to eight feet with those things. It's no wonder they see ghosts everywhere they look. The picture is tiny, You have the light in your eyes from the viewscreen, So your already flash blind, And you can't see your feet unless you point the camera down. So I'm sure anyone would see ghosts after four or five hours of that!

There are CERTAINLY "Spirits" among us, and those "Spirits" can certainly manifest themselves in various ways, from the "Visual", all the way up to the physical in cases where people are actually attacked, and sometimes physical wounds are left.

HOWEVER -

The "popular concept" of "Ghosts" is not accurate.

One may "SEE" the "Spirit of dead departed Aunt Minnie", and the "spirit" may speak like Aunt Minnie, and KNOW things that Aunt Minnie knew. - but it's not "Aunt Minnie" - only a demonic entity impersonating her to lead you astray. Aunt Minnie is DEAD, and either in Heaven, or in HELL depending on whether he was a Christian or not. And she's not coming back to tell you anything.

IF you go to a "Spiritist Medium" - if you're fortunate, they'll be phony, and running a "Con" on you to lie to you, and get your ca$h.

If you're NOT so fortunate - they may be a genuine satanic medium who will get you into communication with a demonic entity that will lie to you, and could get you demonized if you buy into the lie, and allow yourself to get "Pulled in".

The "spiritual presence" in our house in St. Mary's Ohio (an old house built in the mid 1800s) was called "the dark man" by the kids. It seemed to hang around the upstairs, and frightened them until we prayed through the house, and "tossed it" permanently.

The company I worked for in Columbus, OH actually WAS built over a "Potter's field" where smallpox victims were buried in mass graves during the epidemic. When we dug the assembly pits, we ran into hundreds of skeletal remains. But there was never any sign of "Spiritual activity" as a result (so much for the "Amityville horror" effect). The company janitor (who was a trifle "off") did collect skulls that we dug up, that he lined the cellar in his house with.

Our present house in Glenn Hts. TX (New construction) has a possible "spiritual presence" (that my wife has dubbed "Beatrice") My daughter tells of having felt a cat on her bed that seems to "sleep there" at night, but we have no cat. We've never bothered with it, though, and couldn't care less whether it's here or not.

The "Ghost hunter" shows on TV, are WAY too boring (A lot like watching paint dry), and take 1/2 hour to tell a 3-minute story (complete with commercials, indistinct camera shots, sound effects).

Levitations were common, having things thrown at you when you are in a room all alone etc were very common.

Never the less, I was scratched, shoved, and taunted for many years as was the rest of my family as well. During the latter years, we decided to get Paranormal investigators involved (Lorraine and Ed Warren, and John Zaffis) who conducted an investigation on our home and found all sorts of evidence. At this time I was not a Christian.

One of the things they suggested is to have a medium come into the home. We did this and she (the medium) became possessed and VERY violent. She busted the chair she was strapped tightly too, Pushed Ed Warren and 3 other men who were sitting across the table all into a wall at the same time with ease.

After seeing this, the Warrens decided it was time to bring in a priest to perform an exorcism of the home. Bishop Robert McKenna (Chief Exorcist in the USA for the Catholic Church) of the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel performed the rite of exorcism on the home. It would calm it down, but would then resume with more force. After 8 exorcisms it was weakened enough for us to be able to leave.

I began to do research into the paranormal myself and the origins of demons, and there began my introduction to the Bible. I became active in paranormal investigations and studying the Bible on the subject of demonology.

A few years later, I moved to NC and the demonic oppression started again. I hot rock bottom in my life, and didnt know where else to turn. One day, I was in a store and met a man who was covered in tattoos (Much like myself). He began talking to me and immediately I felt a connection with him. I poured my heart out to this man, and found out that he was a former satanist, who was now an ordained minister. HE shared the Gosple of Jesus to me right there. I went home and fell apart. I asked God to "SHOW ME THAT HE WAS REAL". He then said to me clear as day, "THE DEMONS THAT YOU SEE, THIS DAY YOU SHALL HAVE AUTHORITY OVER THEM." I opened my Bible up and the pages fell to Luke 10:19. " I give you power and authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall harm you." I accepted Jesus as my savior (for real this time, as times earlier I mouthed the words with no heart). That evening I was faced with a demonic presence. I did what the Apostles of the NT did. I cast them out in Jesus name. IT WORKED!!!!!!

The next day, I went to the church of the man I met at the store. This began a 6 year discipleship in deliverance, and eventually to my ordination. I began not only operating a very successful public deliverance ministry, but one under the cover of a Paranormal investigation team as well. I traveled the east coast helping others receive deliverance, and leading them to Christ. This opened up avenues of Evangelism, and eventually leading me to Pastoral Staff at my mentors church.

Today, I live in New England and continue to operate in the ministry of deliverance, as well as evangelism, and pastor a street church called Deliverance Bible Fellowship.

This is very real. There is a ministry for this! I am part of that. I have witnessed many people come to Christ through this. I have enclosed a cpl of pics of encounters I have had.

These pics are from Deliverance sessions I have done, An investigation in a "Haunted" home with ZERO power on, as well as an investigation at a cemetery that witches were holding a circle in. Hairy night, but Jesus is Supreme!

Do I think that there are "ghosts" as human spirits walking the earth. NOPE! Its contrary to scripture. Demons? Most def!!!!!
