This is the stuff that could be coola! Some "turns" that are not expected but would teach something... One movie that I recomend is Joan of Arc (or Joan d´Arc)... in my view this film has a LOT of "mature" christianity in it! Again, the idea and story is not as obvious as "a christian movie", but still present....

I both make, and like games that are challenging for the thought... not too simple... too obvious games... you have to think to get the answers... they are not served on a plate!

The game company N'lightning is a popular christian-based game developer. For some reason it got good reviews in my local newspaper (First time video games were ever mentioned in the local press since the Columbine shooting.) Their website is http://www.n-lightning.com/. Unfortunatly none of the demos worked for me. Have any of you guys out there played some of their games like Catachumen or Ominous Horizens? I'd be interested to hear what guys from Christian Gaming forum have to say on it.

We own Catachumen and Ominous Horizons. Thje graphics are a little old, of course, but these are professionally made games. They have puzzles to solve, enemies, etc. Kind of like tomb raider style game. I think they are really fun.
We also own DEREK , Heaven Bound, and Eternal War Shadows of Light. Heaven Bound was a great idea and had nice graphics, but was way too glitchy and too short. DEREK was just made by one guy. I am glad I own that one (it is a myst style game) even though it isn't professional at all. Eternal War has great graphics and is a shooter game. It gets repititious, and the plot is not to great, but if you just like to shoot things and see nice graphics, then it is fine. I'd rather play an N'lightning game with worse graphics cuz' they are so much more interesting.

Humm, some great witnessing tools.

Heaven/Hell a Sims Game

ANY Sims Game. Sim Earth, Sim City, The Sims, Sim City 2000, Sim Theme Park, Etc.

See how you Like it, people doing what they will, and now you have judgment over them, is your judgment all that great? No one respecting what you built them, etc.

I would have to say, the Sims is a great game, Christian or No, it really gives people a feel for how it might be for God some times.

God Bless.

How are games like SimEarth great witnessing tools based on how the inhabitants dont acknowledge what your doing? Isnt the satisfaction of doing something good all that should matter, and not if joe shmo human says thanks?

Your post is truly profound. Incredible insight if I must admit, maybe you have played the Sims games and they have had a greater impact upon you then you thought.

God Bless.

It might be thought provoking to make a game in which you play a demon, even Satan himself and have to use strategy and temptations to lure people into bad decisions, etc. Maybe when looking at a person, an info window shows their weaknesses and strengths so you know what you can use and what not to use and how those strengths and weaknesses can change and erode over time as someone falls farther and farther under your control.

Then imagine your fury when you've spent hours working on this one guy and someone witnesses to him and he turns to Christ. ;)

You could play people off each other and plot things like getting Joe into a fight with his wife, then put him in a situation with some other lonely woman to lure him into adultery. Something like that might help people to better understand how Satan works to destroy us and drag us down. Just an idea.

Hi!
I have played Omnious, Cathecumen and Eternal war... Cathecumen is really outdated, and I didn´t like the game idea myself at all. Omnious is a little better, and graphically Eternal War is best of those three = acceptable.
For those who like action&adventure and want a more modern game with a deeper thought, I strongly suggest to play Inkvisitor. The best graphics of those mentioned, yet no DOOM 3 beater...

The idea of playing satan is quite interesting! However I know for sure that a lot of conservative people wouldn´t like a game in a christian shop called "satan"...
But there was once a similar and interesting bible study on casette called IF I WERE sATAN! It had a similar approach to try to look at the world from the evil eyes... to understand how evil could work!

all Frank E Pereti books ROCK! specially the spiritual warfare ones. i think there are 3 dealing with spiritual warfare. one is This Present Darkness, another, Piercing the Darkness, and.....one more dealing with a dragon somehow...can't remember what its called though....The Oath!
also, i'd highly recommend 'The Visitation' which is a book about a false prophet if i member correctly. AWEsome books! one of the best authors of all time IMO.
You could prolyl make some games off of his stuff...
