Look at 2/3 of my screen are ads you can’t get rid of! Not only do the threads and tone feel different, the ads are maddening! What happened while I was gone!?

I'm fine with supporting this site by viewing ads while using my pc or laptop, but most of my screen being covered by ads that I can't close when viewing this site using my phone makes it barely usable.

That's a premium membership forum - it's only able to be viewed by people who have membership.

There was a problem some time back where people who paid for the forum subscription were seeing ads, and one of the membership perks is an ad free browsing experience.

That problem was corrected, but the issue only pertained to subscription members because only we have ad free browsing here. People without a membership see ads.

The ads your seeing do seem invasive - it's very likely that it's whatever advertisement company is providing the ads.

You can always reach out and find out what the membership fees are and pay that fee, or use an ad blocker though the use of one might be against forum rules.

If neither of those options works for you reaching out to the administration staff and opening a ticket would be your best course of action because invasive advertising does detract from the forum experience.

A member gifted me a lifetime membership to this site so I could take advantage of the perks that come with membership, perhaps someone of more means would do the same for you? My gift was completely anonymous.

What about the light and dark mode issues? I thought people could ditch the ads with light mode? At least on iPhone or android?

This place has turned into a buggy nightmare. It’s been one thing after another since the upgrade.

It was more than 2/3 of the screen for me at times a little while back, and I wasn't supposed to be seeing ads since I had paid membership. CF need to have a limit on the size of the ads when viewing the forum on a smart phone. An ad which takes up a small bit of real estate on the browser of a desktop computer may take up most of the screen on a phone, and I made it clear to staff that if this was the experience of members who had not paid the premium, then it was likely to drive them away from CF entirely

I only post from a phone as well but I contacted staff and they got rid of the ads I was experiencing. Now I’m having a lot of different issues.

I love the upgrade, though no major forum changes such as this are without a few bugs.

But the upgrade is awesome! This is the system another forum that I'm on had for years... It's the most familiar forum system design for me that's out there.

Sadly, that forum went and upgraded recently to an even fancier system (SO much more expensive!) that left many things wanting in my opinion and made that forum more difficult to navigate - so at least I can relate to your frustration.

But this one? I was born to... Lol

That was just supporters - and now it works for supporters on both color modes

What really upsets me is.....currently the ones I cannot get rid of are sexual in nature. And the button to go NOW to the site shakes and gets bigger for distraction. Why these sexual ads on a Christian site. I should not have to look at those continually. Nor should I have to pay to not see them.
