Hi Erwin,I have a few observations and questions.

I think the wiki idea is great, but watching it closely I have noticed that there are two main trend in there, one of the older way of thinking, and one of the simpler, new way.Well I personaly like the new way,but it is possible, that the majority actualy preffers the older way. Here is my suggestion:

Lets develop two sets of rules/guides.

Both should be worked on,rather than completely wiped out every time a member gets an idea.
When the both sets are acceptable, the vote would start.

I have a few questions about what is possible and what is not.It would help in making the guides,so please, can you tell us if it would be possible to have a second post count for each member, this would change acordingly,on an entry to a specific subforum?
Are there any ideas you know you could code in,and those could help in making decisions?
Could members vote to have some subforums hiden,I still believe a few hiden places for fragile christians should exist, some simly do not want to interact with non christians, and they deserve to have a forum where they feel secure IMO.

Would it be possible to have a feedback feature for mods, with a sort of health bar, showing the percentage of positive /negative comments?
For example the bar would be light green when 50%+coments are positive, getting darker with more positives. It would turn light red if less than 50%coments are positive, and get darker red with more negatives.
All the coments would be visible to public, but only mods could edit them and remove malicious posting.

Last question for now.
Is it possible to merge accounts on requests? Just to help people who used different names, and now would preffer a joined account.

Thank you for all the changes, and I pray things will go well,I trust the members are capable to create this forum a better place.

Check this out for current rules being developed in our Wiki as well as other things like staff protocol:

OK I did.

I have a question. Can only staff suggest or have a say in what these rules are?

The reason I ask is this.

---

[top]1. You Shall Respect Our Christian Beliefs in the Lord Our God

Why do we have this rule? We have this rule because in order for Christians to be united, it is important that we not offend our God as well as our brethren.
[top]Don't Abuse the Name of God

The names and titles of God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit (in any language) shall not be used as expletives or interjections.
It does not mean that God cannot be criticized nor that negative impressions about Him cannot be shared as part of a discussion or debate outside congregational fora. It also does not include in a debate outside congregational fora denying the existence of God, the divinity of Christ or the existence of the Trinity as many Christians understand it.

Then it goes on to say :

These are very contradictory statements and very irreverent toward Him. We are not to grieve the Spirit of God.

So is there any way this can be changed and if so how do we go about it?

I believe the main purpose of this is so that debates in General Apologetics can go ahead - it's hard to discuss people's negative impressions of God and for Christians to respond to them if we can't even say what those impressions are, you know?

But you could come join in the discussion on the rules and see what more people think about it.
