Christian counselors familiar with Asperger's?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could point me to somewhere I could find a Christian counselor who has experience dealing with people on the autism spectrum.

I feel that I cannot fully explain the issues I am dealing with in my life to someone who is not familiar with Asperger's, as this has a very huge influence on my life. But then on the other hand, I cannot fully explain the issues I am dealing with in my life in a secular context either. Even though the psychologist I am seeing (and who diagnosed me with Asperger's) deals exclusively with people on the autism spectrum he doesn't deal with it from a Christian perspective. In addition, I feel like I am somehow yoking myself together with an unbeliever in this instance (2 Corinthians 6:14-15). At best he would only be neutral toward my faith.

If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Gee, I wish I could help you. I certainly understand the need to have a provider who understands AS as well as your faith. I will keep this need in prayer, believing that the Lord will provide.

We were very blessed with my son. We went through 3 providers who were not acceptable to me, and then God sent us a wonderful young woman who was not listed as a Christian counselor, but who was very experienced with AS, and just happened to be a Christian.

Hi, I just joined forums. I saw some of your posts and I am the same age as you, but I am a man. I still need to get tested, but I am sure I have AS, LoLz! I am also in a great relationship with my Jesus Christ .

I don't know any counselors, but I would like to meet new online acquiantances here, so if u would like to make a new friend online, I can give you that for now. So, you can reply back here, and I will check.

I have actually had the opportunity to be counseled for free by a christian man. He knew NOTHING about AS, but, it was a "divine appointment" because every bit of our sessions were tailor-made for preparation of the news I recieved later about AS.

I feel really blessed lately, and I would really like to help others out. If it helps to confide in a christian man semi-anonymously through the miracle of the internet, then I will try to do what I can.
