• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Further to my ongoing quest of ever trying to make make some decent money online, I am considering setting up a Christian living focussed blog.

I have other sites that use autoblogging tools such as WP-robot that drag content from news feeds and article directories etc for affiliate marketing. But this method does not seem appropriate for a Christian living focussed blog.

Has any one any experience of blogging about this or related subjects and can suggest any tips on how to get started, choosing the right subject niche, easy pitfalls to fall into, sources of content, monetizing, traffic and success stories.

If you can, can you post a link to your blogsite so I can have a look.

Further to my post in April I have got my blog up and running. It is a website giving guidance for people with marital problems from a Christian perspective. It is called Christian Family Resources.

I make no bones about creating this this blog. I intend it to generate an income for me.

This is how it works:

On the website are affiliate links to a product called "Save Your Christian Marriage". That means that I receive a commission from every sale that is made through my website. If you view the product through the link above and buy the product I also get a commission.

I have used a bespoke wordpress theme from Affilorama using one of the Affilojetpack ready made blog themes. Yes that right, if you click through the link to Affilorama above and buy one of their products I also receive a commission.

(If the Mods feel that the above links contravene site policy please feel free to disable them.)

I outsourced the content for the articles to a lady in the US on Elance. I provided secular articles and she rewrote them for me from a Christian perspective. She charged me $3 an article. I posted copies of the articles on various article directories to give the Google search algorithms something to link back to my website. I am now on page one of Google.

What I am endeavoring to say is that there is a source of income out there that Christians with a little spare cash and time can tap into.

I don't know if I will make an income or not. I will let you know.

Well, it's not exactly getting many readers, but I do have a blog that can be accessed by following the instructions in my signature. That might give you some ideas. I should also note that you're not allowed to have links in your signature.
