We do not have any accounts recorded by his followers. The gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John were written by authors who were born many decades after Jesus died. So I really cannot distinguish what Jesus said, from what is legend.
Even if that is so, and for not being a historian I have to accept this assertion, are you able to summarize the acts and words ascribed to Jesus that you think represent the essence of truth, and compare that to the parts that you think demonstrate that Jesus appears to be wrong? I am asking for this because I am attempting to assess your attitude so I can fully understand whether you are able to consider yourself of Christian nature. It is pretty clear from what you've expressed here that your beliefs are considerably atheist. I think it is important to recognize that there is a difference between nature and belief, and while certain beliefs are important for developing a Christian nature, there probably has never been a follower of Christ who has not or does not have some beliefs that are wrong. I too am curious to know whether there can be a person who can justify their position as an atheist Christian.

Christian Atheist makes about as much sense as Capitalist Communist. Being that one can act like either while believing the exact opposite of what the basic tenets of the religion/philosophy insist upon. An atheist can use the moral teachings of Jesus as a model for morality just as a communist can engage in commerce but neither agrees that what they do is based on a basic belief in the correctness of the core tenets of Christianity in one case or Capitalism in the other. To my mind accepting a small part of a very much larger and more complicated belief system as valuable does not make one a part of that belief system and entitled to call oneself by the name reserved for those that accept the basic worldview of that system.

I'm not a historian either, but as far as I am aware we have absolutely no recorded first hand accounts "as recorded by His followers". If you know of any I'd be interested to know.

As I asserted above, we do not have any first hand accounts on record. So it is impossible for me to discern and summarize the acts and words actually ascribed to Jesus.

I grew up in a Christian boarding school and Christian environment. So I can consider myself of "Christian nature" but only in the cultural sense of my upbringing and environment. I don't consider myself a Christian atheist, I'm not even sure if such a demographic even exists.
