Whoa! Look at the awsome discovery this place is! Hi to everyone I am Godscareing and I must say I love this web site.... very cool. We are a Christian goth band in Los Angeles CA and are very glad to have found this place. This forum is very similar to our Godscare.net accept of course we are a bit more of a concentrated outreach.

Just wondering... any goths in here, hmmm? Alot of christian ministries think there is no room for such a thing as a christian gothic person. We've had our share of protestors and questioneers over the years... but what do ya'll believe around here?

i know a few goths... but the whole goth thing dies out when your younger and you begin to relize that its really not worth it

I'd have to know what you guys are about. I know that I've seen a lot of stuff that some people think is not compatible with Christianity, and I like them.

The key is taking the good stuff with you into Christianity. I've heard of some really good Christian punk bands. They're 100% punk, but they're also Christian. It's really cool

It's really cool that you want to express yourself that way. There are lots of different personalities in Christianity, use your personality and identity to make a positive impact!

? i wasnt judging? i clearly said that Christ knows and he does....Godscareing could be doing a great thing, i dont know the details

Christians dont send anything in their way to hell, we try to GET everyone to heaven! Its people who ignore the Lord that send themselves to hell, and it seriously scares me how they can create a false bravado about themselves - because one day they will be kicking and screaming in hell for all eternity...and it was their choice!!!

Before I post, I'd just like to say that I'm new to the forums Greetings Godscare, I've seen your posts on GCU

its not up to me to judge, thats Christs job

I must bring up that Christ accepts people for who they are.
Just some quick views, I don't want to start any arguments here.
Goth is not a religion or style, it is a way of life.
Goth is not about hate, evil, satan, or paganism.

I personally think that being Goth and a Christian is very possible. I have friends that dress like goths because it looks good to them but yet they aren't gothic they are christians and i know they are christians because they told me of their experience with God. IT is VERY possible. I am not a person that dresses in Gothic stuff but what do we have the right to label things. Gothic, Preps, Jocks, Nerds, Ditzies, and more...we have no right to label or JUDGE people. It says so in the Bible. And if you live by the Bible's rules then you should follow that. But not my place to tell you what and how to do. Its the Holy Spirit in your heart. but anyways thats my views and little bit more.

I don't know if I'm a goth... but I do mostly dress in black, dye my hair black, and wear lots of black make-up. I am also full of 'self-hate'... especially now. But I don't think I'm gothic... I'm not even sure what 'gothic' means...

i dont see y u can't look like marilyn manson and be christian..

cept ya might scare children.. or sumthing..
but that doesnt mean ur not christian.

to me gothic is more of a feeling inside...a feeling of creativity or acceptance...i dunno its really hard to explain and everyone has their own views about it...but hey its basicly whatever you want it to be...

I dont think a TRUE goth can be christian. If you consider yourself a goth but at the same time consider yourself christian you are ot a true goth. To me (im not a goth) a goth is someone who jnot only dresses the "gothic" way but also has the "gothic" personality and beliefs...therefgore you cannot be christian too.

from a psychological stand point it appears as if the vast majority of goth's have some acceptance problems and self actualization issues..... Christians also require that from God.. they realize that no matter who they are and how they look, God will accept them... I feel that Goth's could hypothetically be a christian. After all God will take all that accept him....

Their issues, at least from my limited experience with them are different than those of christians. They seem to be into satanic things (even if they themselves are not satanic) the ones I knew where either pagan/wiccan or atheist (somewhat) and tend to be very dark mentally, not sad or anything just ... i dunno dark.

Not that wiccans/pagans and atheists are dark (maybe quite the contrary), but gothic ones tend to be.

LOL since when was manson a goth? From a music standpoint killingtheoldman or any of the other great christian goth bands they are just as much a christian band as michael w smith or whatever.

When I see a goth person I think of dark (no hope, gloomy)

Jesus Christ is hope! sunshine! happiness! we should portray Jesus Christ.
