Thanks, keep. I guzzled down a MelloYello about 6pm yesterday. Don't know if that's why I was awake until 4am; it's all I can figure. Then got up at 6am to wake up my son. He leaves at 6:30 because he catches a ride with a teacher. The school is a 20-minute drive; for high-school dropouts. N isn't a troublemaker, but he flunks everything because he won't do homework. This school has each student working at their own pace, on a computer, no homework. He thinks he can graduate by January 2007. It's what they call a charter school. My younger son is a freshman at the Christian school here in town.

Well, T has left now, so i'm going to crawl back in bed and hopefully get a little more sleep. Have a good day,

Hi ya'all. After a couple super stressful days, today was good. My 17-yr-old didn't yell at anyone. I asked a friend to make some calls for me, which she did. Friday, a nurse is coming out to determine if my hubby needs to be in a nursing home, at least for a bit. He broke a rib the last time he fell and reinjured his foot. I just feel he could get better care at a facility, but we'll see.

Congratulations, Prom, on the new job.

Miggles, still want a husband???? That gentleman was being very honest.

Hi scootermon, saying a little prayer for you today regarding the situation you share.

Blessings...birdfriend.

This is interesting about the program and school where your son goes. Our kids went to a Christian school years ago (middle school years) where they used something called PACE, but not on a computer. My son didn't like it, but my older daughter developed some very good individual study habits which served her well later in college.

I hope you catch up on your sleep, scootermom.

I was up until 3:00 a.m. this morning. Just not sleepy after dozing earlier in the evening. Another woman and myself have a bible study going on another forum so posted at lengths on that. It was on 1 John 4: 15, 16 so gave me much food for thought and had to really think, check commentaries, etc. before replying on it. Hoping to take a short nap today, but not staying up so late tonight. We are going to the Farmer's Market to get fresh corn this afternoon. It looks like one of our finest autumn days here in the wet forest...it will be starting the daily drizzle soon. Cheers to all from birdie..

1 John 4. i'll have to look that up. Finally it feels a bit like fall...tonight it's gonna drop to low 40s. Highs tomorrow in 60s. a bit of repreive from high electric bills before heating sends the gas bill soaring. If I don't watch my men, they'll run in t-shirts and crank the heat up. Me, I perfer a little chill warded off by sweats. Cheaper that way, too.

scootermom, You don't need to look it up. Here is 1 John 4: 15, 16. I copied and pasted it for you.

[Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” (1 John 4:15,16)]

As you can see there is a lot in these two verses. birdfriend.

I bought an automatic hedge clipper today. I'm too old to use a manual one. This one has a battery so I can clip anywhere in the yard I want to without cutting the cord in two. :D
I always wanted a hedge clipper. Are you going to make your hedges into shapes like Mickey Mouse?:D Just a thought.^_^

My computer has been giving me fits, but wanted to catch you all up on the job situation in case I lose the ability to post.

I worked 4 days last week at the preschool and decided it was not the place for me. I had an interview on Saturday morning at the local Hobby Lobby store and got huired right away. I'll be starting work tomorrow morning. I'm grateful to the Lord for opening up something else for me. Thanks for everyone's prayers. Now if I can just keep from spending my paycheck in the store. :D

Good Morning everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I know I haven't been stopping in much of late. I have been trying to unload some of the storage stuff in the closets and attic. UGH! 22 years of everyones things. Me and my big mouth who says we can put it up in the attic or out in the garage for you. Little by little it is going home with the rightful owners. I want to have a garage sale or take the rest to a flea market.
The weather here is so nice. The crisp air in the evenings makes me want to bake apple pies or make a good comfort food of some kind. Stew or soup. I quess it's that time of year.
Well I guess it's time to run some errands.
I'll stop back later.
Have a great day and God Bless!!

A thought for today:
The power of Christ within you is greater than the power of evil around you.

Prom

Prom, sounds interesting and also could be fun. If it were here you'd see a lot of me because I often shop in hobby stores for materials for various crafts such as:

tole painting, wood burning, and paints for figurines. [plaster molds if they have them]

Prayers,

birdie

Good evening everyone. I've had a toothache on and off for a bit, but now it's constant; an inflamed gum makes me fear infection, so hub's taking me to the dentist tomorrow. I fear I'm headed to the hospital to be put under for an extraction. The involuntary head/neck movement makes dental work not simple. Once they start pulling my teeth, I'll feel way old. I'm sure this is the tooth they tried to save without a root canal.

The nurse came and said my husband qualifies for a nursing home. Because of this mental ilness, he also needs a mental evaluation. She said the processs will take a couple weeks. I have mixed feelings. I told him let's not think in terms of forever. I'm amazed he can still drive; the nurse said she is, too. He's in a state of confusion much of the time. That with his weakened physical health make it hard to give him proper care.

I will be praying for you and your hubby Scootermom. Toothaches are not a fun thing. I don't like dentists much because of a bad experience when I was young, so when I go and need work I really need to be put out.

The weather here is just lovely. The trees are starting to turn and at night you know that fall is in the air.
Well I have folded clothes, wash dishes, straightened up the bathrooms, and things are pretty neat, so I'm thinking of taking a walk.
I will stop back later and see how you all are doing.
Hope that you all have a great day.
Take care and God Bless

praying about your trip to the dentist....
also continued prayer about your hubby...having all those evaluations done can be a good thing...then both of you know exactly whats going on and how best to work with it and how best the Dr can help him...or if something medical can be done to help.
Its all very hard and exhausting though I know...
here and caring...praying

Sounds like a neat new job, Prom.
:)

Yes, Birdie we have all those things. People often joke about how they go overboard buying stuff, because there are so many wonderful things.

Hobby Lobby is a huge hobby and crafts store, owned by christians. It has lots of home decorating items, seasonal decorations, a frame dept., fabrics, pottery, floral dept., cake decorating, artist supplies, specialty furniture, unpainted wood, scrapbooking supplies, all kinds of stuff. They have put their fall and christmas supplies on sale this week and the store has been packed with customers taking advantage of the 50% off sales.

This is my first time to run a register. I have had a good time but it is very fast paced...no time to think about anything except the task at hand. Yesterday we had a couple of really rude, crabby customers. But then some came along who were just as pleasant, patient, and friendly as could be. Now I will remember to be especially nice to check out people, especially when they are really busy. Today was better. They are breaking me in fast...I was on the register by myself all day today, my second day on the job. They are the older registers, not the scanning type...so there is extra stuff to learn and remember to do. In spite of the fast pace, I am enjoying the work. I have one of the best schedules. They are closed on Sundays, and I'm off on Sat...working 10 til 6 full time.
I know it is going to get really crazy as the holiday time gets closer and closer. I'd appreciate prayers for strength and endurance as well as grace, to deal with those difficult situations, in a way that would be honoring to the Lord.
Thanks to all who have prayed about my work situation. God has answered. :)

kewl...I love Hobby Lobby and have often thought of getting a job there myself...
Enjoy and just love the crabby customers.....lol..its part of retail.
I also love the fact they are closed on Sundays to honor their workers and their families by letting them have that day for worship...;o) I wish all stores would do that.
Have fun and be blessed.....;o)

Thanks so much, all of you. I feel loved here and I love you all as well. My gum is ouching. probably from all that x-ray pokes today. 'Tis what I thought...I need a root canal or extraction. The dentist gave me pennicillian and a painkiller. i think asprin helps more. My insurance won't cover sedation there, so tomorrow Don has to call the hospital clinic and get me in.

We are having July weather here. Friday is supposed to be fall-like. I'm ready.
