I could not find a topic to just chat in so I opened this one. I'm waiting for the car repair shop to open so I can have the muffler on my truck welded back up. I also need to go to DMV and get a new license but that will have to wait for another day---a good hair day for the picture. LOL I'll have to get my Flowbee out!:D
I took the dog for a walk this morning and missed the person I was suppose to meet. I think I was a little late and I don't have her phone # so now I feel guilty.
What is everyone else up to today? I do pray it is full of Gods blessings:pray:

Today is an ordinary day in the life of a bird watcher, cat whisperer. After I get dressed...and have my second cup of coffee I will take the clothes out of the dryer, fold, and put away. Then I will make beds, etc. and  (whoops..just broke up a pending battle between my two girl cats...hiss hiss meow meow..putting one of them out on the porch while scolding them with "Bad cats...bad cats...No No...No...No." ) Now let's see where were we.

Then it is morning devotional time using the bible and also my current devotional...Experiencing God: Day by Day...by Blackaby and Blackaby. There is a list of people for whom I am praying..:prayer:

Then lunch :yum: and after that a quick nap in my huge chair.

Then a walk in the woods or near our lake. There is a pair of Merganser Ducks I want to check on. Ducklings should be with them soon. And a trip into the village to pick up mail, visit the library, and come home to check my email.

Then putting seed in the bird feeder and watering plants and bushes.

Encouraging husband as he finishes building a special side table in his shop.

etc. etc. etc.

Oh, just finished reading a book by Joyce Meyer (she is good in case no one has read her yet). So now I am starting to explore one of the rare old children's books I found in a rare and used book store over the weekend. Wheels Toward the West by Hildegarde Hawthrone, 1938 ed. a recent find for my collection of children's books. Fun and relaxing!

Then get supper. That is today. Praise God for it and all the little blessings it will bring. No sun out right now, but it will, no doubt, be visiting us here in the rain forest before sunset...:) God bless all and may you have a happy day today! :amen:

How can I be busy all day and not have much to show for it?! What I can't figure out is how something like going to the grocery store has changed from something I did on my way home from work to a major expedition? And where are the piles of laundry coming from? Are the towels mating in the laundry room? Remember how Lisa did the dishes on "Green Acres" by dumping them out the back door? Tempting?

But then I remember what my grandmother (a pastor's wife) taught my mom back in the depression when Mom complained about washing dirty dishes: "Just be thankful we have food to dirty the dishes with." I think I have the inspiration I need now to go empty my dishwasher and fix supper--and I am thankful for my blessings.

By the time you read this it will be Thursday here, and I'll probably be on the golf course, supposedly enjoying myself. (I really do enjoy the challenge and the exercise)

Having my cup of Macadamia nut coffee, catching an ocassional glimpse of Nibbles in the yard while chit chatting. The windows are up and the bird noises are plentiful.
Today I will prepare for a visit from my Oklahoma daughter, her husband and 3 year old son. They will stay for 2 nights and then go off to spend a night alone while I keep Aiden for a night. This will be the first time for us to do this. I look forward to the challenge.:) I pray for a peaceful, fun time.

I found this to be a great study book. Blackaby also has another called, .. Abraham, Friend of God that I found to be very encouraging.

And it is so good for you. We live two blocks from the golf course but don't golf. I am happy for our friends who still do. My brother golfed until he was into his seventies.

There are two theories as to where golf got its name from.
1/ they spelled flog backwards (it's like that sometimes)
2/ The game began in U.K. with the toffs and it was a men only game hence: Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden.
You can decide which is right, I have no suggestion.

I have tried golf and discovered I do not have a handicap other then myself. I am golf challenged.:D I got up at 5:30 and took my walk with the dog, now I am drinking my coffee. Yesterday was a wonderful day the weather was perfect and I got all the things on my list done and like I posted in another thread Annie came through her operation with flying colors. Perfect day. Praise God.
The dog belongs to my daughter and I have just been babysitting for this month. I will miss her when she is gone, she is such good company but I am getting tired of the 3 walks every day, somedays I just don't feel like it but I know it is good for me and I can feel the hand of God in all of it. Have a great day everyone!

The grand kids are coming here this weekend. I thought they were coming tomorrow night but my daughter called and said, "Could we take them tomorrow morning?" :help: We drive to a small town between us and them to meet and pick them up. They are 9 and 7. So, when I finish posting I better get really busy getting things ready. Know the feeling grand mas and grand pas?

Anyway, they call me nana instead of grandma It is the Irish name for grandma and I am half Irish. And not to be confused with the other grandmother who they call grandma.

I found a rare children's book for my collection over the weekend, but it makes good reading for adults too. It is Wheels Towards the West by Hildegarde Hawthorne. About a couple of teenagers on a wagon train heading West. I had read it as a kid, but have been looking for it for ages. Couldn't remember the complete title or the author, just that 'West' was in the title. Do you know how many books on various bookseller's websites include the word 'West'? tens of thousands. But there it was in this old and used book store. It is available from alibris.com too.

This fine find...however, must be put aside a while because I am going to be busy organizing the kids with games, hikes, and maybe swimming (that is Grand Pa's job though). We were to take them camping but it is too rainy...so maybe the grand son will just sleep in the motor home with his grand pa and camp here. ;)

This chit chat is fun. :) Thanks to Keep for starting it.

Thursday blessings to all! :holy:

birdie.

Hi Birdie, I see you found the other thread. Annie was pretty sick when I first brought her home with diarrhea and not being able to relax. The next day she was back to her old self. She has laser surgery done and they say they recover faster from it and I believe it. Because the incision is burned it does take longer to heal but that does not seem to be a problem.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. I am going to catch up on some reading I think and make a special dinner. Last night I had spaghetti and a salad and it was yummy. I don't want to have to go to the store so I have to find something that I have all the ingredients. This may be a challenge.

I was going to ask you how it went with the grandkids. I'm glad you enjoyed having them there it sounds like it was action packed, a whirlwind indeed. I don't have any grandkids yet and I so envy all my friends who do. I spoil my granddog.

Just finished up the weekend with grandson Aiden. We had a wonderful time as he spent Fri night and all day Sat while his parents went off to spend some time alone. He watched the bunnies and the birds with me. We played in his kiddie pool and watered the flowers. He didn't ask for Mom or Dad one time while they were gone, but he was so excited when they got back he couldn't stop talking. He was ready to go back to his home when they packed up to leave today. He said he didn't want to stay but that he would be back again. He asked me to come for his birthday next month and wants me to get him a little broom since his mom won't let him play with the big one. I'll have to see what I can do. :)
