I know Gail, I hear you, we have been programmed to perform and when performance seems weak, we think less of ourselves...we are all a little "self-centered"...it is very deceptive and wears a lot of different masks. If I think about Jesus, He does not have one flaw, not the smallest flaw He is perfect, it is better to magnify Him, but I drift to myself a lot still.

honestly, I struggle with balance and have all my life. I do count you guys as friends and when this life is over... (many years from now!!) I plan on greeting you in heaven.

I don't think it is 'self centered' in my case.... I was raised (from a very young age) to be compliant and a 'people pleaser'.
I have since been healed and let all that rest as it involved my mother (God rest her soul), but in times of trial, those wounds can become a bit 'sore'.
Live and learn....one day at a time with the Lord's love and grace

It is what it is...we ARE older and a bit slower; it is time to prepare for retirement, but we can't...we must continue working for a bit longer.

In the meantime, it requires self awareness (knowing who we are and what we can do) and a big dose of humility as we realize we are not perceived in the best light, even though we are doing our best.

We are what we are....mature, responsible, reliable adults who are doing the best we can each day with God's grace, in a faster paced world, with co-workers young enough to be our kids.

Daily I pray for my hubby, who faces what you face (and I used to).
I will be adding YOU to my prayers as well ~ for direction, strength, hope, peace, and a fulfilling position that meets your needs.

I want to start back into church again. I am going to try one near my home. No churches are not always safe. You get exploited sometimes (everyone wants you to date their ugly misfit brother--lol) , you end up in the middle of drama sometimes that you didn't even mean for (I remember this guy that was trying to date me and another single woman at the church at the same time). And, preachers do sometimes let you down (called my preacher to do my mom's funeral and he didn't even know who I was even though he had expressed interest in personally seeing to it that my son made it to church when I couldn't bring him and had been to my home to help with one of my son's hormonal outbursts as a teen. His church had grown from the small church it was when I attended to a large operation with plenty of associate pastors to do things like preach at funerals and care for the congregation-- He now has his own radio program and TV commercials) .. I do miss a couple people though. I think that if I would have hung with it I would have at least three GOOD friends that I do not have now. That is a regret. Not to mention that I lost touch with God while I applied myself to college in my 40's ....

aw dave, I feel some sadness associated with that. I have turned my facebook over to Avon. I still have my family on there. But there are less than 10 I think. The rest is coworkers or ex coworkers... friends from a million years ago that I no longer have anything in common with and AVON LADIES. I am using it now as a business tool. I can focus on Avon and still keep lines of communication open with my son should he decide to talk to me.

lol AMAZING hugh? I can't imagine how. I think I'm a mess. But for the most part I am real.. characterized as "down to earth" by those who knew me in the context of my family. (my father the self proclaimed king of the world and my mother whom everyone came to to fix broken life stuff).. then there was me.. They called me "down to earth" and it offended me because It made me feel like I was LESS somehow. I know they meant it as a complement but I felt like less anyway.

I've left that life and sometimes I wish I could have endorsed it. I would be so much more comfortable now. And my child would not be confused.

thanks for your support Shirley girl... I'm still having a problem with that "AMAZING" WORD. LOL but I appreciate it more than you can know.

I'm going to go back and re-read what I posted to see if I can figure out what is so amazing about it.

You always know just how to pray...
the "accept" part has always been hard for me.
I want to be so much more than I am and I have had that problem my entire life.

I just go with what I have on my heart [at 'anytime']
The ACCEPT part is easy ....when:

#I look at all of the things I have not achieved
#the things I cannot cope with physically
#the stuff I 'once upon a time'... possessed and lost
#the stuff I 'once' valued, and can never have

I have surrendered ALL such stuff....
I have been led, to today, over a path so bestrewn with hurdles, pain and heartbreak
that my onward path is now no-longer, down, to me
but, will be wherever He leads
I surrender, ALL of my PAST WANTS
and, I truly am so very grateful for today's blessings
For, Without Him..... I could not be here

His peace, comes at a price... but, no money can buy it
He is faithful to the 'child' that calls to Him "Father, help me"

I have LOST one computer to the site and it's third party software

With the absence of files [on that computer]
there is no-evidence of WHO, was responsible
FB deny any liability themselves, but said they would follow up on user complaints
~there is no evidence
~there is no comeback/ recompense/ apology

Just recently, I had several attempts to access my [other] PC
while connected to facebook and GE50+ [only]

I have been very thorough, in my prevention of, data-execution [without, my say so]
Having BLOCKED all facebooks applications
and Blocked ALL NOTIFICATIONS of my FB friends applications
I found that I was unable to prevent several games announcements
accessing my pages and information > simply because those friends have-access

I can achieve ALL that I do with facebook, by other, less risky 'means'
Truthfully, I cannot afford another computer
and will maybe go-offline after Microsoft pulls support for, Windows XP in 2014
Because present PC's [here] are not compatible with Windows 7 / 8

So, while I can DO, all that I can do... He is in-charge of my future
Wherever, He leads me

I made my choice...that night in my garden shed [?]
without that RIGHT CHOICE... I wouldn't be here 'now'

I think that we all have need of prayer on a regular basis whether we ask for it or not. I know that is the case for me. I don't view requesting prayer as complaining, rather as a part of our fellowship together as brothers and sisters in Christ. For these reasons and others, I think that it's wonderful for us to all pray for each other every day whether there is an active prayer request or not. God knows our needs most perfectly and loves to hear our prayers. This addresses the needs of those who wish to maintain their privacy and not make open requests for prayer.

I wish everyone a blessed Easter, and I want you to know that all of you are in my prayers.

It is enough for me
to see 'myself' as giving something back
as, being useful , caring, gentle, sympathetic and loyal
~seeking to understand the problems others see

Many times it is easier to see and embrace goodness in others, and not ourselves.
We have a peek as to how the LORD created and sees you; feel your struggles and see your strength and love.
Working together we can prune and cultivate those virtues so we all can bloom.
Trials make us stronger and purify us of those things that keep us from the Lord.
