as long as you don't mind thumbnails...that is the easiest, because the CF albums are limited, and with PB you have to log in, get the code, upload new pics...well you know

Yep...PB can be a pain to say the least. I can reduce the size of my pics here at home so they load easily for me.

Yes I edit my pics on my pc too ....notwith PB...except for a quick edit if needed

Gail you and Penny are adorable...I can't stand pictures of myself these days...I keep my hair very short because of the mites...feel like I look like I live in a concentration camp.

Occasionally she behaves for a pic ....but she is high energy, and you must have camera in hand when she stops

Your hair must still be thick...I have a lot of hair, but it is fine...does not look thick now, but I have almost no gray hair at all...still have the color of my youth...just like my dad did. My mom was gray at 36.

Gracie has high energy too...I am getting out my camera for her today...she was 1 year old yesterday.

I never had thick hair...very fine, though it curls in humidity.
And now the gray is thinner/straighter in the winter, and curlier in the summer

ATTENTION....

You will... need to attend to ATTACHMENTS
just as you do CF Albums [?] SPACE, is very limited .....
It isn't a lot of room_ at all

When you then, see the "ATTACHMENTS FULL -DELETE SOME FIRST"
You will, even if you do not mind the links failing in older posts
still see a list of unidentifiable filenames [a code] for each 'thumbnail'
With little option to see WHICH images you are deleting

If, you are running windows, and have a hotmail account [?]
you can sign into Windows Live
and take-up a SKYDRIVE account
This, provides you with 25 GBs of FREE MEMORY STORAGE
There you will also find opportunity
#to store, edit and use Office Programs and Files
to store images in named albums and sub folders
#to store documents and webpages
#You may keep everything private and also share
a single image, an album, and it's sub folders ~with specified persons
#You may make an album and it's sub folders
viewable by anyone, to whom you have given a link
#and also make an album PUBLIC and generally viewable by your friends
ie: messenger / email contacts

ALL of this is secure and untamperable 'LOCKED'
by your Windows Live ID [username/ email addy & password]

I have three Hotmail Addy's presently and I understand that I may have SEVEN
~each, of 25 Gbs x 7 = 175 Gbs of free online storage

If, your computer crashes... ?
you haven't lost that information
you can reach it from any online PC

You can use it, [skydrive] just as you use, your Photobucket Account
You can link to those albums DIRECT from a TAB on the toolbar
needing just, to sign in
to have desktop access, while you work elsewhere
~PSE 7/9 _ ~Paint.NET_ Microsoft Office ad infinitum
when done, simply sign-out and close the 'tab'

Just say, that you had a bunch of 200-300 photos @ 3-6Mbs each
and you want, to go 'crazy'
and show a dozen here in CF, with it's 600 x 600 pixels per image LIMIT
How would you do that ?

You could .... download Picasa 3
upload the chosen pictures to an album in Picasa
choose then, to EXPORT them
to a folder on your desktop @600 x 600 in size and watermarked [or not]
with your own mark / date / location
and upload them to albums here.... the original pictures STAY in your PC
but, if Harddrive space is getting short ¬v
You could also save the whole 200-300 FULLSIZED photos
to an album in SKYDRIVE
...and upload the 600 x 600 images to a subfolder [in that album]
from which
you can post an image-link here, enclosing link with

tags
as photobucket provides [?]

Picasa 3 has a number of, very useful 'image-editing tools'
But I have become 'very-enamoured' of the possibilities
provided by Paint.NET > the poor man's photoshop

I was about to say the same thing. I really appreciate the information about managing attachments. That will make so many things much easier. Thanks!

I didn't realize there was an attachment limit; that's because I use the CF album, but mostly PhotoBucket, because I prefer the full size pics to post (even though it takes more work)
I am still digesting the rest of the info you gave us, as I am tired and slow on the draw tonight

Hi Gail... yes, there are limits
and they are, very 'limiting'...

I believe... given your efforts in my group [?]
that you would have no-problem 'following' instructions on how-to
when supported by screenshot images of my journey 'step by step'
~ from a camera image to your desktop
~ from your desktop ~resized to 800x600 [fullscreen in CF]or, 600x 600 for CF Albums

With such a huge resource/facility, you would, very soon use it as I do
~an extension of your own computer storage [skydrive]
You can even store videos on it and play them here
via a link _ just like 'youtube' plays here

My butterfly video was one of those ...put together [first] in Windows Movie Maker
Uploaded to Skydrive and I posted a Direct Link here

Please remember, that stuff, is only difficult...

WHEN THE ALBUM OPENS
click on the first photo and from then onward use the right arrow to slide through the pictures
I find the 'slideshow' doesnt pause onscreen long enough
to examine some of the pictures
clicking the right-arrow allows you to soak up the content

To see a larger image of the photo you are viewing ?
click 'VIEW ORIGINAL' in the right side pane to view in a new window
