SORTED

The 'trouble' was in my Time & Date Settings \Control Panel
My calendar had been altered <backwards to 2003

Recovery process was SYSTEM RESTORE to last checkpoint [January 12th]
and an UPDATE of Adobe Reader...
Cause unknown: but probably a hacked .pdf file

Adobe Reader Update: to version 10:1:1 was done

and now BED

Brother Dave,

I'm real happy to hear that you got things fixed. I just updated my copy of Adobe Reader, and they called it a security fix. I'll assume this would be pretty important if someone regularly views PDFs.

While I'm thinking about it: Monday is over - everyone have a great week.

Experience I guess, Birdie Sis'...
~I was being informed by my security program that site security certificates
were, either out of date [expired] or not issued yet
[problems could have a DATE ISSUE ???]
Checking the calendar ... I eventually saw the 'year changed' to 2003

Upon resetting it to 2012... I saw the same error messages [?]

So, I did a 'system restore' to the last system checkpoint
and went then to Microsoft Update to top up ALL that I had reset, with my RESTORE

Looking then for Security Updates... Adobe sent me a note
re: Security Update for their Reader and I installed it
Et voila !!! Success

You have-to LOOK for 'clues' that are relevant within the problem Birdie [?]
and, pick the problem apart and rebuild :)
It COULD have been worse

 Tom Bro'
Glad you are sorted also...

I have settings which ALLOW notifications from Adobe
but, I get to choose, what and when to install
The background information provided by Adobe asserts that .pdf files can be hacked
and carry malicious software and that they were playing catch-up to close vulnerabilities

Happy Tuesday

I taxed the car yesterday, so we will ride to and from ceramics [later today]
-1.C outdoors this morning brrrrrrr
:D

I just wanted everyone to know how IMPORTANT retired persons have been to me as of late... Those of us in the working world would not have had the time or the energy to pray for my every need... help me fix a water problem (long distance while I knew nothing about plumbing) and give me encouragement just because I was upset.... Those of us in the working world are often too impatient, and self centered to stop and help someone in need. I thank God for all of you... You have been there (for a week) lol... to see me through.. You have been God's workers in my eyes...I'm sure I'm not the first little lost lamb to come strolling by. I'm sure I won't be the last... May God give me the grace to be just like you guys when I grow up (lol) How valuable you are!!!!!

Trust me you "golden" Christians are very important... May God bless you and keep you (and your spouses) happy, healthy and comfortable for many many years to come. (my prayer for each and every one of you.

I hope your spirits are higher tomorrow Shirley

I am a little better...still not where I usually find myself emotionally and spiritually. Maybe it is the let down from the holidays..and winter blahs.

anglewind, get some sun. sun and walking helps me when I'm depressed. Holidays are rough, but I'm usually over it by January 3... (????) That's my look forward to date.
Anyway... lavender calms.... it really does.. I use lavender scents (not fake) around the house to help me out when I go through a rough time... drink water... helps the brain not misfire.... and stay away from sugar. Make sure your food has lean protein.. Just some tricks I've learned to help me.. I seem to get that winter bla thing caused by lack of sunshine. Mine starts around October usually. This past year I started selling Avon door to do and it really helped. I fell and sprained my ankle in late November and couldn't walk around anymore. It took less than a week for the bad feelings to set in. However, it seems that while I was out daily delivering books to unsuspecting homeowner's doorknobs, I was much happier. (i.e. I was walking in the sunshine)

Good advice birdie...I do eat a very lean and nutritious diet all the time...I took Gracie out for a while by car...she can't go for walks yet. But, we got gasoline and then took a short drive to a big pet store...we enjoyed the outing. I was looking for a certain kind of halter for her, they were either too big or too small...the one I have must be the best kind for her...but we got her favorite treats and a little off for a special coupon. The day is gorgeous here.

We play ball with our two little dogs every day, and they won't let us forget about playtime. Yesterday it was nice enough to play outside, but today was too cold. We just play a different version of ball inside and they have almost as much fun.

Yup, that's my Penny too...we have regular times for fetch in the house (in inclement weather), as well as our daily walks.
She has a basket of toys (stuffed, balls, squeakers) and picks what she wants us to play with ^_^

Sounds like Gracie's stash of toys, she loves them too.
