I have been pretty busy again...got groceries and made a macaroni salad for my hubby, it is hot here again and that light salad is a favorite of his.

I am expecting the "gardners" this afternoon...they mow and edge the lawns, something my hubby did for years but of late it has been hard on him, it feels so wierd to pay someone to do this, but the guys really need the work too.

We have some apple farms locally, they look surprising dry and sort of ugly to me, but apples are in season.

[Do It Yourself] Graphics Design Tuition [classes]

Group Created by davedajobauk
Many, is the occasion [here in CF] when I have read, of members
who bemoan/ are wishing, that they too could post photos /graphics to the forums as others do...
as if the ability, was enshrouded in deep mystery

Let me shine a light upon the darkness of those who believe, that they will never accomplish this by themselves,
with a few 'exercises' that they can so easily, do from their computers

Later, we can explore, the processes, that will enable them to create their own graphics
[again so very easily] and post them confidently

I have-to add that this group is also bound by all of CF's Rules
Please treat one another as you would like to be treated

God Bless you all
dave

That's OK Dave...It is almost bed time here anyway.
Most likely I will find the time to go over it next week.
The weekend is busy....tomorrow we have Church and dinner out for Jim's 60th Birthday :D
Then Sunday the kids/grandkids are coming to make us dinner and celebrate.
Have a nice weekend

Well, all those salads look better than mine...I make mine a little bit on the dry side and just add sweet pickles, green onions and celery...but we seem to really like it.

Here is my own photo:

Thank you Angel' Sis'

by Green onions, I would 'venture' that you were describing 'spring onions'

For main sauce did you use cheese/ mayonnaise
You said "a little dry " did you mean a lack/limiting of sauce ?
and one more question did you add grated cheese ?

I know... teaching a MAN, to prepare food feels strange
You have a willing listener here ;)

O Dave you are cute...I just mix mayonnaise and mustard into the cooked macaroni...no cheese as I do not eat dairy...for a lb of pasta I' guess I use about 3/4 cup of mayo to 1-2 tbls of mustard. We like it sort of dry...not slimy wet or swimming in dressings.

Green onions....hmmm...they are long and skinny, we have them all year here...We usually chop them up...make chives and add them to assorted things. Larry had an aunt who ate them just like they were...that is too hot for me.

Hello Brother Dave,

I wish you well in identifying the problems and getting them fixed. I hope it's something minor - maybe a graphics driver file and hopefully not something as serious as a card going out.

@ Angelwind ____ "cute" ?

mmmmmh yup I know, I cannot help it .... it is just the way I was brought up ;)

@ 357magnum

Thank you Tom [all sorted] ... It is/was, a browser 'cookie' problem [?]

I 'overide' system handling of cookies...
Accepting, all session and first-party cookies and blocking, third-party cookies

The 'thing' with cookies, is that when we place sites, in the trusted sites list
they....can send you anything and everything
and not necessarily be aware that their site is having stuff passed through it

IE8 worked just fine everywhere else...
but while in CF... newly selected pages would, simply hang there BLANK and WHITE, save for the page header
I found that I could not enter Internet Explorer Properties page
to clear cookies and temp files....
and my Message submission window would disappear as I tried to submit new messages

I struggled for a half hour or so... as the evening had already gotten late
and it would soon become morning
before giving up with IE8 altogether
and decided to uninstall it, complete with it's unalterable settings

I restored my computer to the beginning of October
uninstalled and then reinstalled IE8 from an installation pack on my desktop
did the Microsoft updates... to bring my computer back up to date
and while it was doing that ....
I popped in on Mary's computer [Mary, had gone on to bed ~without me]
to let you all know ~what, I was seeing HAPPENING here in my computer

As you already I know, I run 'a tight ship' and problems, like these
can only occur in 'trusted sites'
If it occurs again... I have 'a button to press' [courtesy, of Microsoft]
to have the site checked, for 'naughties'

Hello Brother Dave,

I'll happy to hear that you found the problem and got it fixed without any serious issues. I haven't used Internet Explorer in years, so I'm not familiar with the settings you were talking about. I use Firefox and I've been very happy with it. I especially enjoy the features in Firefox for folks with eyesight problems. A couple of mouse-clicks and I can make the screen or the fonts any size I need to and Firefox remembers the settings for each site I visit.
