I'll speak for my family and say that we've been busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. Our children and grandchildren will be coming home, and we can't wait. I'm going to guess that many are traveling or preparing for family gatherings. This is one time of the year that many people get extra days off or vacations.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Morning Golden Eagles.
I'm off to town in a bit to finish shopping for Thanksgiving and then home to clean Yuck I hope you are all having a great day!

All of the work, cleaning, and cooking will be worth it. I was just thinking about a huge list of things to thank God for. We like to give every family member an opportunity to talk about the things we are thankful for when we get together. We especially love to listen to the little ones.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Psalms 100:1-5 (KJV) 1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. 5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.

'v moods' does that stand-for "VEXING MOOD" lol

I do have, the latest 'Java' and Flash player 10+
and following problems at Facebook last week
I had Adobe.com check-out my installation... result: 'no problems found'

Then, when I had signed in...
I was forced to CLICK HERE IF YOUR BROWSER DOES NOT CONNECT YOU

Having done so, I had to wait for at least two minutes for GE 50+ to load

I have IE8 [fully updated] and CF is allowed to use cookies

??????????????????? What a 'caper' huh ?

Anyway.... Have a happy thanksgiving to all my US friends
:D

Hello Brother Dave,

All I've had today is several times of slow loading pages - but no timed out failures to load. I was just thinking that some problems could be the result of linking servers before even getting to CF. Many people have extra days off or vacations during this time of year, so there might be more people using the Internet causing some of the slow down. I read an article recently that said there are so many users of the Internet now that they are running out of IPs in the current structure of IP allocation. The article went on to say that a new structure of IP allocations will be and must be implemented soon because of the continuing magnitude of new users.

Brother, the varying connecting and routing servers might explain why different users have differing problems at different times.

In the meantime - KEEP LOOKING UP!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Brrrrr .... it is really quite cold here. The woodburner is going and we are nice and snug. I have just made my first ever pumpkin soup from scratch and some pumpkin puree from scratch for a pumpkin pie. The soup tastes delicious. :)

How is everyone? I hope you are having a good day. :)

I have had to unpick some knitting so it is going to take me quite a while to put it right .....

I was thinking today that I need to reach out to people more. It's so easy to get caught up in my own world with all it's challenges that I sometimes forget the joy that can be found in other peoples company. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a bad person but I can be self absorbed at times.

YesI think we all have those issues. I had volunteered to do some babysitting last night for our ex pastor who is alone raising 5 kids. My adult son invited him out to watch football. I almost regretted volunteering before I went as I was so tired after work yesterday. But you know what I went and it went well. I love those kids and it was the best thing for me to do and I think they need a gramma/mom's input even if just a bit. Often I limit myself and get a bit reclusive, volunteering helps me with that. I guess I felt a bit the same way last Tuesday before I went out on street ministry but I came home revived.

Keeptrying, I know exactly what you mean and no, it does not mean you are a bad person at all.
I find that the days just seem to fly by lately with dr appointments and hospital appointments for Rob and since his surgery in July he just gets so tired and can't walk anywhere near as fast as he used to. What saddens me is that sometimes it seems as if I am making all the effort. For example, we haven't heard from anyone except the pastor of our church for weeks. Maybe we should look for another church. :(

I have certainly had occasion to think the same thing at times, but I suppose life is very fast-paced and hectic these days. (I know mine is.) Sometimes I think people mean to be more thoughtful and intentional about reaching out, but life demands get in the way. For example, I have been meaning to make a casserole for a friend at our former church who had surgery and has a long recuperation but I haven't done it yet cuz I'm just exhausted by my own life lately.

Of course, some situations and churches are better than others, to be sure. We do need friends in our local body of Christ to support us.

That's the way it works for me too. I sometimes just don't want to do it and then when I do it turns out to be very rewarding.

You and Rob have had such a hard time. The people of your church sound like they are guilty of exactly what I was talking about. You really need the support of your church right now and I wish I had an answer for you.
