  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We got 3 inches? Well, we got enough to make driving a bit messy anyway.

I was hearing on the news that Atlanta got clobbered by snow. How do you folk down South deal with it? Here in the North it happens every year so we've got the snow plows and salt spreaders to fight it, but down there you get these things once in a while so it might not make much sense to invest in heavy snow-fighting equipment. I can imagine my uncle, down in Tifton, Georgia, getting snowed in on a storm that we would consider barely a nuisance up here.

My home fits into that category in terms of not being equipped for heavy snows. Heavy snows and ice storms are rare here, so a lot of road work has to be done slow and even manually because of limited equipment. I'll just say that our street crews do a great job with what limited equipment they have. Realistically, a major snow or ice storm here shuts the city down.

Wow, 20 inches! I have seen 18 inches of snow in W. Texas about 30 years ago and that was exceedingly RARE!
We ended up with 2 FEET :D

We finally got a snowfall of about 20 centimeters (a little less than 8 inches) on Monday night but in the middle of the night it changed to rain and washed most of it away. It is all gone now and still raining. :( I prefer snow.

Good morning. It's Monday and all the schools and govenment is off for Martin King's birthday. I don't so I'm getting ready to go to work.

D'Day mates.

My wife says that I'm "off" all of the time, but she won't elaborate on what she considers "off". :D

Everyone have a great week.

Hi everyone. Well, the surgery on my foot went very well on Wednesday. I was home about 4pm. Then around 9:30 I went to the ER because we thought there was too much blood on the bandage. We didn't get back home till 3am. Didn't see a doctor till about 1am. All the dr. did was unwrap and change the bandage. She said it was ok. I've been good keeping the foot elevated and ice packs on it too. Tonight we went to the mall and Benjamin wheeled me in the wheelchair. He did a great job.
