We're getting our heavy snow in February this year. We got 5" a few days ago, and have a heavier storm right now, that could dump up to a foot of snow on us. This storm is widespread. I pray all are well through it!

We are on the line of 6-12 in expected tomorrow through thursday am.
I am happy for the new coating, so we can snowshoe again
Praying everyone is safe in the storm
Glad you like the snow, Gail!

We are sunny today but very cold. It's cold in the bank from the door opening. I'm here in my coat! It was 26º when I drove to work this morning. Not sure what the temp is now.

The last forecasted winter storm for us missed us. We've been able to get considerable cleanup done, but we still have to deal with insurance adjusters for damage.

All of those facing winter storms will remain in my prayers. Stay safe and warm.

I find the weather very ironic. Here we should be having snow because of the olympics and all. People are arriving expecting acold Canada winter and are getting spring.:) Actually though most of the time it is an umbrella and rain coat that is needed not a parka. Still wish the mountains had more snow though so my son could work. The olympics will be fine though.

Our end of the storm was a bust...we only got a dusting :(

Hope the rest of the country digs out soon
We have probably an inch or 2 of snow on the ground here in Texas this morning. I got up around 5 and looked out the back window. It was beginning to snow and I saw some of the largest snowflakes I have ever seen in my life, I think~ over 2 inches in diamenter some of them! They were more like snow-blobs than snowflakes!^_^ I'm at work and it is continuing to snow lightly right now.

Thankfully, the temp is hovering around 32-33ºF so the roads haven't iced yet.

I do hope that all our snowbound friends are well stocked with supplies and are keeping warm?

Blessings

Yes for sure. There are many that are vulnerable in times of extreme weather, generally the elderly or infirm. I don't know how people can go without power for days on end and cope. I remember when our furnace broke and we had no heat or hot water. WE did use our stove a bit and huddled a lot but if the powers out all you can do is huddle.

Last years ice storm crippled our area for weeks...we survived with candles and a wood stove.
It was a blessing to have those things at least; even better to get the
utitlities back ^_^

Praying for all affected by severe weather

There were many rural areas near my home without electricity for 2 to 3 weeks during our last ice storm. The electric companies repair the highly populated areas first. We've thought about a smaller house in the country, but we've thought again since our last series of winter storms. Some of our friends in the country ended up in buying expensive generators just for bare necessities so they could stay in their homes.
