  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Depending on the time of year that can be an issue. We have had a lot of bear activity where we live. We have to watch our garbage etc. I think this last year is the worst I have seen for bear sightings and nuisance bears. Mostly they just ignore people as much as they can. You may see deer too or coyotes. Thre have occaisionally been cougars (much more of a problem) but none that I know of lately. Skunks are a much more pervasive problem they are so numerous. Fortunately our dog was only sprayed once but they get hit on the road all the time. What a smell. I am glad you like Vancouver, so do I but I also liked what I saw of Englland when there in 2004.

Me too got a busy day tomorrow Sure wish my voice would come back. I just hate not being able to nag everybody. HE HE.:)

LOL.... 'sounds' like, a family are getting a 'break' ;)

Whenever I get the first-twinges, of, a sore throat
I throw a tablespoonful of salt in a mug
and top it off with boiled water and stir
and GARGLE with it, just as soon as I can hold it in my mouth
iow: as hot as I can bear it

It is so-effective, that I may not have to do it again [four hours later]
and my throat will be just fine

Vinegar was among the first medicines mentioned in the Bible. Boil a little vinegar in a pan on the cooker and gently inhale the steam from it. Best cure for a sore throat ever...but inhale slowly or one can actually faint.

I used to do this before preaching and never had to drink water or suffer from dry-throat whilst preaching.

On countries, I find no better country than Canada. I don't find England the country I once loved. Three years ago we went home for a tour and gladly went up to Scotland to get out of England. London wasn't London anymore an we were hard pressed to even find a chippy in London.........

Cheers,

Jim

 Afternoon Dave and everyone!

Nice and sunny here today - do you think you can get hayfever this early in the year..I've been feeling gradually more stuffed-up lately and a bit sneezy, but I don't know whether I'm coming down with a cold or whether it's hayfever...there is blossom coming out on the trees, and flowers and things springing up.

Good morning dear Eagles. I'm off in a little while. My friend Lynda's mother passed away and the funeral is later today and then a prayer service at her home. Hope everyone has a good day.

I am sorry for her loss, and pray that she and her loved ones are sustained and consoled in their grief.
May her soul rest in peace.
They have my prayers :prayer:

Be assured my prayers are with you for your peace and healing

Thank you Gail

Information starts here http://christianforums.com/showpost.php?p=50483405&postcount=2309

has varied a little since that post... ie: we wont be having stents done this-time
and I must arrive there by 7.30am
am having angioplasty to blood vessels in my right hip

Taxi is booked for 06.15 am

and Kath [our neighbour] will see to the dogs once she has had breakfast

I havent dreamt [beyond the very odd-occasion]
since my arrival here in July 2007...
but this 'nightmare' really was a 'shaker'

There I was on the table... an 'expert-patient' having been through
the very same procedure 3 times previously and several arteriograms too!
Suddenly, there was WARMTH in my lower right abdomen[hip]
and the doctor, working alone with a nurse, screamed out for assistance
other staff run into the room and a doctor calls for anaesthetic [general]
Another of the group asks, is his blood 'typed'
dont-know came the response
I said it's 'O' positive
and am now feeling light-headed
my feet are really cold and my knees are numb
people are running around me giving and receiving instructions
my head is swimming and the room is growing dark
I woke up, sat up and found myself trembling

so I went and made coffee and started up my PC
to come here and distract myself from my thoughts on the matter

brrrrrrr gave me a right chill... what, with it seeming so real
