Hi Dave, Grace, Ms D, and kk, sorry to anyone I missed but I only looked on who came up on the first page.
It's in the high 80's here but the humidity has been high so it feels hotter. I guess we all can look forward to the cooler Fall weather soon. I keep thinking of the people on the gulf waiting for the hurricane to come. I feel so bad for them. I pray it will calm down before it reaches them.

Yes, everybody please be in prayer. Texas (and Dallas) are beginning to receive many, many evacuees from New Orleans today.

Yes, I do think it was prayers. Many, many people were praying about this.

Well, we got just a "whiff" of autumn today. It stayed in the 70's most of the day. It was overcast and windy. Ahhh....it felt good just to get a little cool breeze. Usually, early Sept. is still pretty hot here. Actually, all of September can be pretty hot, just better than August!!!

Hi all haven't been able to post regularly due to being back to work and also starting my fitness program this week. I got a fitness pass for three months as a 60th birthday present so I am trying to make good use of it. My left knee was a bit sore for a day or so so had to modify my routine but it seems fine now. Hope you are all doing well and that all affected by the storm Gustav are home safe and sound. Jan

Good for you gratefulgrace. I know my knees would not stand a fitness routine. Too many years of teaching dancing. Hope you have a nice weekend.

I did have a slight back of the knee problem after the first few days but I switched up my routine a bit and now I am good. I took a deep water aerobics class on Saturday with absolutely no weight bearing and it was good. I think I will be back in the gym tonight. Jan

Hey Ariel It is nice to see you I bet you are pretty busy with the counselling stuff these days. Hope all is well with you and your family.
WE had lots of bear activity in the last 24 hrs. There was a bear in the parking lot at the supermarket last night about 3 blocks east of home, then evidence of one at our house. (tipped garbage can and scat) and then at the school where I work (about 3 blocks west of my home) one was lurking around 10 am this morning. Bet it is the same bear. Jan

Yes, I have been busy with counseling. Sometimes it's hard, but all of it is a joy. I am so blessed to be able to reach out to people who are hurting like I was, and offer them the same comfort God gave me. 2 Cor. 1:4 is so true--God is so good.

But I still think about you, and drop in to pray on our prayer thread. You are such a blessing.

Btw, I did pass that url on. Thank you so much for helping me.

Hi y'all

Mary and I have just returned from the Manchester Royal Infirmary
where I had ultra-sound scans of both legs [groin to toes]
and of my carotid arteries in my neck
I have narrowiings and and calcification everywhere
I was told to await the consultants letter
which would detail his-opinion, arriving, in due course
following his examination of the scan pictures and reports

So, to the best of my knowledge, it wasn't such a good examination [results-wise]

Mary repeated, that she would still be here
whatever happens to my right leg [awww, she is a rock, a lovely lady]

anyway, thats my report

I find myself wondering if some of the supplements I take could help you, too. Fish oil, for example, has been shown to help blood flow, as does garlic. Of course I don't know, I am not a doctor.

When I was younger I could swallow Cod Liver Oil by the 100ml bottle [luverly]
I took CLO capsules a while back
am presently on Simvastatin and Adalat along-with my 75mg per day dispersible Aspirin
Honestly-speaking.... I cannot stand garlic in my food or as a supplement
yeuuuuuuuuuuuk !!!!! :green:

The medicine I am taking, means, no grapefruit whilst in treatment ...
so I guess, that is, cholesterol and water-content 'sorted'

I had been expecting to lose my right leg ABOVE the knee
back, before I came to Manchester and that, was some 14 months ago
I was informed that should any of the blockages break off and 'travel'
I could be in serious trouble very quickly

LOL.... my life 'here' on earth is of-course in His hands
and I have given-up all-concern [worry] in that respect

Dave . . wow, you sure handle your difficulties with such grace. Definitely praying for you through it all.

I'm nearly bouncing with excitement, and almost made this into a prayer request, but it sounded silly to pray about going to a bible study/home group. That's a good thing, right, not something one usually asks prayer for? My husband and I haven't done so for several years now, for whatever reason . . but this summer we've been attending a different church and now their home groups are starting up for the new fall season, and I'm actually looking forward to going to the one we were specifically invited to. I even signed up to go to their women's retreat in October *swallows hard* I'm such a recluse about some things, so these have been major steps for me.

In past times that I have felt my TIME was near
He, sent angels to show me MORE to do
Having gone-on to do these things
I believe I was shown His will for me

In proceeding with these new ways
I found PEACE, was mine and that, brought me such joy
The pains and misery of past-times, have been overcome [within me]

I don't NEED to run anywhere....
The local community-bus scheme will take me anywhere within this suburb
for just 50pence a trip [$1 ]
and the Cross-Boundary Community Bus will take me into any surrounding suburb
as it did today for £1 [$2] per trip.
It cost Mary and I £4 [$8] in total ie: for the outward and return journeys, altogether

I can travel for FREE on the local bus services [in any city/ town in England]
and at cut rates on the motorways between them

My life has been filled with blessings too-numerous to list
and the gift to me of, the love and devoted attention
of, my dear Mary, who has [again] today, assured me
that with one leg or two, she would not
feel a change, in her wish to marry me

I have already had cause to repent my sin
of, covetting the wife of another man
in that I did wiah, to have met Mary many-years ago
where then
