I have been in and out a bit today but had appointments and welcomed yet another neice into the fold today all the way from Japan. For the night at least. She is off early in the am for a wedding out of town and then off to visit her mom and sis in Alberta then back for another night here then off to see her papa on Vancouver Island.

Once, you have signed-in

You are on your index page

In the bottom of the LEFT PANE > make a new album

CHOOSE a name that describes most of the content you will add later
click SAVE

In the middle of your screen now...
Pb will tell you that you have made a new album
This, is a child album that will show BELOW your index album name
hereinafter, we will always call this > 'Index Page' the > parent album/ page [?]

Ok... just below this announcement
is a button that says > Choose Files

click on this and you will then, see a table
that shows you the PATH to your images INSIDE YOUR PC

WHEN, you have placed the images you want to show HERE
into a folder on the desktop [????]
then, in the TREE of folders in your PC [that is now showing]
you can see that DESKTOP occurs first [?]
and that, if you click the box, next to that word
the desktop will expand to show all folders on your desktop
look in the expanded list for the folder
with those pics inside and click on that
now the folder will open and show you the pics it contains

Hopefully, you named the pics appropriately
as this makes them very easy to identify immediately
OTHERWISE
you must RIGHT CLICK each file and then, click on PREVIEW
when then you will be able to see the image that the filename refers to
if, that is the pic you want to show CLOSE the PREVIEW PANE
and double click the chosen filename

Photobucket will then upload a COPY of the selected picture

When the picture has been uploaded Pb will announce this onscreen
the image will be shown to you as a thumbnail
and you must scroll to the bottom of the page
and CLICK on SAVE

TO RESIZE the IMAGE [?]
The one you are aiming to display is to be at 640 x 480 pixels
which displays as an almost 'half window' picture HERE
or
800 x 600 pixels which dsiplays as almost 'full window' HERE

and which, is now in the child folder at Pb [?]

click on EDIT above the pic thumbnail
and then click on RESIZE
and then, type into each of the boxes
640 and then 480 /or.... 800 and then 600 and click SAVE

WHEN, Pb has done this...
you can either, SAVE A COPY
or, you can REPLACE THE ORIGINAL
as this,
refers, ONLY to the COPY you are having HOSTED
I suggest you REPLACE THE ORIGINAL with the resized pic
as this allows you to be ECONOMICAL
with your 1,000 pics PER ALBUM LIMIT

WHEN, this action has taken place
you will see the image and, in a pane to the right of it
you will also see various urls in text boxes
double-click the bottom one
THIS, copies the url to your PC's clipboard

THEN, you come here to your message box
right-click at the point where you want you pic to appear
and select paste

you will see that the url has been enclosed, with the image switches
ie: [img ] and [/ img] < [I put spaces deliberately]
the machine doesn't and nor should you

when you then, upload your message / save your changes
the images will appear within your message


I can show you this with pictures using the flower one
I helped you with earlier if, you need to see it happen

Uploading several/ many pictures to Pb


Find the folder that holds your images in the image browser pane
click on it.....
click [ONCE] the first file you want to upload
now HOLD DOWN THE CTRL KEY and click on ALL of the images you want to upload
when FINISHED your selections RELEASE THE CTRL KEY
now, CLICK on OPEN which is at the bottom of the image browser pane
and WAIT while Pb downloads from your PC

next.... click SAVE on every page
of uploaded pics that Pb presents to you

? file names in the desktop folder ?
how about
Flowers1, Flowers2, Flowers3 etc
Squirrel1, Squirrel2, Squirrel3 etc
Dog1, Dog2, Dog3, Dogsat1, Doglay1, Doglay2 etc

I came across a newsletter from Space.com

This letter gives a comparison between landscapes in Alaska and that on Mars

I made contact with my second eldest son [2nd marriage] today
using Windows live messenger
we 'whiled away' most of the afternoon and, some while of this early evening

While I was away to the shop and the local 'Chinese' for my evening meal
David somehow then appears to be away from his computer
and a film he was downloading to me failed to complete the downloading

Yes... my second eldest was, also named David

First time we have spoken albeit by text these past twelve months

I shared in another thread about the nice concert I attended last night. It was James Taylor a folk singer from the early 70's It was a great concert and I got free tickets which made it even nicer. dave you might be interested to know that he kind of got his big break in England with Peter Asher in 1968.

I have yet to learn how to operate our Camcorder... ,
before I learn how to get pictures on the puter, to then download. You're wayyy ahead of me.
