  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dave, I am so sorry to hear about you gas stove problems. We had similar problems about 10 years ago. My mom helped us to buy a new one. It always seems that these problems come when we can least afford them. Our van is giving us problems and with our son coming from Az. we are hitting it a little tight with the money too.
I will be praying that you get accepted for the loan or that they buy one for you.
I use my crock pot for lots of things. I have made baked potatoes in mine. If you would like some recipes please let me know and I will post them for you.
Take care and God Bless

Hi Jan

Your 'talk' of lush and verdant pasture
reminds me of, our front garden 'PIC later'

The RAIN....... eased off [here] just after lunch
but, it isnt DRY enough
to go and sort the back garden further [today]

Besides, what-with, the 'time' I have spent
sorting our connection, after waiting
for the talktalk technicians 'success'
in completing the broadband set-up [at their end]
seems to have limited me, as to 'what-else'
that I can now, get on with

Tonight, is OUR SECOND night, without our gas cooker
thus I am thinking
to do Sausages in the George Forman
and potatoes and beans in the Microwave

Regarding the cooker.... I have phoned the Social Fund [dept]
of our Social Security and appraised them re: our cooker being condemned
They, are sending me a form, upon which I can claim a GRANT
or, an Interest Free Loan....
to help purchase, an unplanned-for, exceptionally-expensive item

Once, they have the form, they say, that they
will make a decision within ten days,
as to whether, we, will receive a GRANT
which we will not have to repay
or, will be given a LOAN...
which, will be deducted 'weekly' from our income, AT-SOURCE

Isn't LIFE 'fun' ?????

How... the burners are supposed to be and

BELOW THAT

The reason for the condemnation

Good evening everyone.
I'm sorry that I have done the disappearing act for a little while.
We have been busy trying to get the house ready for our son's visit this coming weekend. He is coming from Az. and will be here for 10 days.
Plus, this past weekend we celebrated my grandson's 4th birthday and my granddaughter's 2 birthday. David's birthday is May 18th and his sister was born May 19th. So they share a party. It was so sweet to see them together.
When I have time I will try to post pics of them.
I hope everyone is well. I am so happy that the warm weather has finally gotten to NJ. My peonies are all in bloom. I am waiting for the hydrangas(sp) to bloom soon too.
Well have a great night and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Take care and God Bless.

Thats OK we all disappear once in a while. Just very glad when we see our friends return. Seemd like it is a busy month and really thats better than those long cold winter months when we had to try harder to sustain ourselves and make the dark days pass waiting for sunshine.

I myself had an 85 degeree day and didn't even notice any discomfort...it was very nice.

Dave seems to be the busiest though...super chef that he is....e's cooking cave man style....Dave have you become the back yard grill master yet?

Dearest Lord, please provide some new and improved equipment for Dave to cook with.

Hi Ley it is still pretty rainy here too so we have something in common. I have never had a green house but my friend has and starts all her garden flower and veggies in there. She is an amazing gardner. I manage my houseplants but that is all. My bulbs came up but did not flower.(tulips daffodils etc) Anyone know why? I did plant them late and in pots not in the ground. Jan

Hi Jan

I too have noticed that some plants do not bloom the same year as planting
indeed that some plants need two years or so before they GET GOING

Better 'show' next year !!!!

Hello all.Sorry about the gas stove problem Dave but it sounds like you have lots of alternatives. The weather has been wonderful here I hope it lasts awhile before the humidity sets in.I did something to a disk in my back. The pain runs from my back down the left leg. Ouch, it is painful. Nothing that time will not heal. Now who has the time. LOLHmmmm, my smilies don't seem to be working.

Oh yes keep

Good Morning everyone. I've had to find other ways to cook when we remodeled our kitchen. My hubby decided to change the lightbulb on the stove and he used a screwdriver that got fused to the stove which could have hurt him. Thank God all it did was burnout the stove's wires. That started the whole remodeling project.

Have a beautiful day together Dave and Mary

I am praying for Dave to get a new stove too. But, he seems very clever, so he and Mary will not starve! :)
It's a little rainy today, but by the weekend we will be in the 90's. One air conditioner is in the window need to put one upstairs now.

A well stocked kitchen I see. That is very good.
I have the microwave, but we use it to heat things up or to make popcorn.
I love my crock pots. I don't have a deep fryer anymore though.
Hubby has a brick BBQ that he built and that is his toy not mine. :)

Hi Springy

Yes, Mary says we will, see the well head...
Mary has been several times already
I am told that the group, is from a catholic church
which is just fine.... with me, being non-denominational [?]
and, we are, filling the empty coach places :)

For sure, I will be ready with my camera
and a brolly.... just in case I must, take pictures in the rain :)

Thank you for your good wishes for our trip
and also your prayer toward our NEW cooking-range LOL
