  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think that spring is ready to po here too. The sun is shining so brightly this morning. Still a little chill in the air though. The nicest thing is to see all the little buds on the trees and the little plants starting to poke their little heads up out of the earth after a long winters nap.

Well time to go do some housework.
Have a great day.
God Bless

Good Morning and thank you for the Birthday wishes. It's going to be a sunny day in the 60's here. It might be Spring yet!

Subject:
Fw: Blood Clots/Stroke: -
They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, theTongue.

Identify Blood Clots/Stroke

Pic file in unrecognised format

I will continue to forward
this every time it comes around!
STROKE: Remember
The 1st Three Letters....
S.T.R.
My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word.
I agree.
If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.
Seriously..
Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone
that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....
she said she had
just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared
a bit shaken up,
Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening
Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken
to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps
Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die.... they end up in a helpless,
hopeless condition instead.
It only take s a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours
he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally .

He said the trick
was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting
the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, S TR .

Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.
The stroke victim may suffer severe
brain damage when people nearby
fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions of the 'patient':
S *
Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK
and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her
to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble
with ANY ONE of these tasks,
call 999/911 immediately
and describe the symptoms
to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke --------
Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other
that, is also an indication of a stroke.
A cardiologist says
if everyone who gets this e-mail
sends it to 10 people;
you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

My darling husband sent this to me via e-mail with a note that we should all probably read this at least once a week. I thought you might enjoy it.

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . YOU BECOME 21 YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!' May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

And if you don't send this to at least 4 people - who cares? But maybe share this with someone.

Remember to:

Dance like no one is watching,
Love like you've never been hurt,
Sing like no one is listening,
And live like it's Heaven on Earth.

Live in Peace not Pieces

Hi all:wave:
Thank-you Ariel for the post. I really liked the part that said "if you don't send this to 4 friends--who cares". Exactly! Even though it is worth sharing and I gladly would I hate it when they tell you that you must share this or your an awful person or some such other nonsense. But that was worth sharing and I'm glad you posted it.
Dave, very good advice. Strokes have claimed so many lives and some at a very young age.
I better stop or I will get all weepy!
My day went well except for being in a drs office for 2 hrs and 45 mins!!! Most of that was spent waiting I might add.:o It was a first visit and I did like the dr very much so that makes me feel better.
It's a beautiful spring day. What I would call picture perfect. I was so busy today I did not have time to enjoy it properly so i hope its nice tomorrow when I will have more time to go outside.
Blessings to you all. I'm now leaving to cruise around the rest of the site.

These are both so lovely thanks for sharing. Today I feel quite tired kind of wish I didn't have evening committments but I shall endeavor to rest as soon as they are fulfilled. Last night got to see a very professionally done musical by the students in the high school I work at at our local theaatre. Oklahoma It was amazing and the lead female roll was performed by a young girl with the most amazing voice. I got free tickets but it was worth paying for. jan

 I love Ariel's post, especially the part that says to live life in peace, not in pieces. :amen: to that!!! Good morning everyone. Thank you for the prayers for my leg pain. They are better but I still have periods of intense pain. It seems to be getting less and less, so I'm quite thankful for that. Blessings and PEACE to all.:hug::hug:
