Thank-you all for your good wishes on my getting my cast off Monday. Your all so sweet. I will let you know how it goes.

Did anyone watch the Kentucky Derby? I just love it and watch every year. What a race the winner (Mine That Bird) ran!! I have never seen a jockey that excited. I had picked Papa Clem who had a good run and came in 4th.

We did not watch the Derby...but we did see most of the NASCAR race last night. It bothers me to see horse races for some reason...it looks like cruelty to animals to me...of course I pampered my own horses more than most folks too.

We have been busy this weekend...pruning some trees...shopping for groceries...and I started a new blog on Blogger.

Also had a Trojanhorse scare on my pc...but thankfully all is well.

My cast came off today. It will be slow going now just trying to get everything moving and doing what it's suppose to without pain. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Yeah, you should restrict your 'exercise' to 'range of movement' for a while
and carry pans in the other hand for some while longer
iow: RESIST any 'urge' to test it
Muscles need to prepare [?]

The Party:

By the time we were ready to leave... I had phoned the taxi
and 'they' misheard the pick-up 'location' [mustve been my Bristolian acent]
and sent the taxi there instead of, to us [in-error]

"We havent anyone in your area for a half hour"

So, Mary encouraged me, to WALK home on her arm, and
'WITHOUT' my crutch !!!


Let me just say;
that I made-it, even if, eventually
and it was some one and a half miles distant and thankfully
mostly 'on the flat' [no hills]

yep .. it was fun, at Beattie's party
and she, [Beattie] was so pleased that we could 'make-it' [to, be-there]

He, has been with us some 14 - 15 months [or so, to-date]

That everyone 'likes' my [now, OLD] new-look has tickled Mary
because, she too, likes it 'trimmed' a little-shorter, these-days

Further News

I took a fall from the stairs last night
HOW?

We have a baby gate on the landing at the bottom
to keep Teddy from finding our bedroom to play in
and... from the stairs
it is only @ 18inches or so high and @ 30" on the landing side
well, having so-often simply stepped across it
[me, with my 31 inch inside-leg]
Last night, I came 'unstuck' and didnt raise the following

leg
quite high enough to clear the gate
and IT, remained between my legs as I then crashed to the hallway floor
'seeing' my rapid approach to floor was really imminent
I managed to twist myself around
and to slap the floor flat, on my back
to say; that I was stunned /surprised/ shocked, would
be very appropriate and a very apt description, also

While, I was gathering information, concerning
my then 'present' state, of togetherness
Mary's enquiries,
of, "HOW WHAT WHY"
and Teddy's
"I'll lick you better/ I dont see you down here like this very often"
came, just a little too-soon, for me to comment on

I seemed to be 'all-together' [unbruised] and got up unaided
but... this morning, my appraisal, [last night] re: my having landed 'flat'
was, a little awry, as my right shoulder is a little 'stiff'
and I do feel, some discomfort in my upper right arm and shoulder blade
whilst using the arm
We'll, just have-to see, how this all pans out, over the coming days
