I remember all that, I use to think how strange it all was, now, it is second nature to me and I wonder why I ever was afraid of it. Maybe the "cloud" will be OK, I will try not to judge until I know more and try it.

I don't have an Iphone or tablet...and I have almost 400GB stored on an external HD.

I have an IPhone 5, don't get one, it is in the shop for having a faulty turn on/off switch, they said that a lot of folks that have that model have this issue, it has been gone for 3 weeks and is still not back, they told me 10 days.

I have an 800gb internal Hard drive and only 142 stored on it.

I store a lot of things for photo editing....I will need to get another external HD....but may discuss that with my son, he is the family techi.

There does [of-course]
remain the 'possibility'~that we can [might]
use our present computers [offline] and 'NETWORK'
any files created there with our NEWER [ONLINE] 'upgrades' ...
just thinking 'outside the box'

For a while anyway, applications-software that we already possess [own]
might continue to 'run' [as it presently does] and serve, as an offline utility tool
But we might need to create ISO images of the computer [as is]
to enable recovery ~in the event of catastrophic error ~requiring a reboot

of a predicted increase, in attacks upon software that has become unsupported
But I have considered: the protection of unsupported software, would be effective
if, that software and the computer upon which it is installed, remained disconnected from the internet
ie: that it was 'net'-worked _OFFLINE

The internet has been a blessing to me as well, oh sure, I have had issue with it, but all in all, it has been great. I have met folks like you, forums like this, and had fun with it in general. Who knows what the future will bring, probably things none of us have thought of even.

Update: re Mary


We were told, before the first infusion [?]
That Mary could expect to lose her hair at around two weeks after first infusion
It hasn't happened [perhaps I should have added (yet ]
But then, neither has any of the other mentioned 'side-effects'
There may be no-need to get her a wig [we are hoping]

Mary is also swallowing, without noticeable difficulty [normal foods]
this said, she remains. loathe, to try 'sandwiches'
perhaps, because of, past bad-experience
maybe I should offer her some sandwich
~with the outer 'crust' removed and see how she copes

Mary will attend the hospital next week, for her second infusion

She remains cheerful and 'active' doing-well
