  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you everyone

I just know, how hard-put I could be, to respond-quickly, should the news arrive ;)
So, I have, with the intention-of, getting a headstart begun-packing
everything, that I CAN do-without, until I get 'there'
wherever THERE, might be ....we'll see
The MORE that I get done (now) the LESS, I will have remaining, to-pack

Is it me ? or do the first bunch of threads (below our stickeys) 'look-like' a survey of geriatrics?

I resemble that last remark. LOL

Take it easy and be careful with the packing. I'm remembering your recent surgery.

Hope the wait is not too long, Dave, and that everything goes smoothly.

No doubt we'll hear from you when you come out the other side!

LOL ... I am, 'getting-there' :)

The hernia repair [of the repair] procedure is @7 weeks behind-me
and I guess, that will soon become a memory too!

I am not the 'complaining sort, but I seem to have come away
from, the hospital with rather more complaints than I had on entry

I don't really want to know 'what-happened' while I was anaesthetised
I CAN GUESS,
#that I had vacuum tube in the left side of my mouth
and, that when it was removed, it also took layers of skin from both-lips
and, something-like a 'cold sore' ~wet, then crusty, smile/crack
and then it's wet again ?
#I was 'catheterised' ~for the soreness I felt, when having a pee
which was felt for up to a week after, my release from hospital
#My sphincter also struggled to contain me, for about the same time
#My haemorrhoids, also complained, for the first time in around four months
~just take my word on that....
They were sore, leaking blood, to toilet-paper and sort-of 'greasy'
Now I don't know whether such an intrusion, was-necessary
to insert air, and reorganize [untangle] my bowel, before closing me up
but it is a good thing, that I have, an
'as-needed' prescription at the pharmacy for 'Xyloproct'
and also 'Chloramphenicol' for 'sticky-eye', a conjunctival eye infection, I suffer, easily

Yes, I am getting-there ;) we all are

That sounds like a nasty experience. Hope things are on the mend now.

We had a Family service on Sunday morning for Mothers' Day, with tea/coffee and scones before the service. This was in place of the usual Fellowship lunch we have after a family service. Eldest joined us at home lunch time and stayed until after dinner.

Nothing major happening here today, but tonight is our church AGM. Plenty of housework to do before then.

Have a blessed day!

That is not pleasant at all; been there post surgery myself for other issues, so I understand!
Praying for your comfort and the healing of all these health issues, so you can feel strong and healthy when it is time to move :crossrc:

Thank you everyone........

It is, 'one step, at a time' for, all of us ....

Changing the 'subject-matter' here, for this 'news' from Slovenia

The Divje Babe Flute, found in 1995 is 43,000-years-old

It seems, that 'humankind', has predated Christ's arrival, by more than 40,000 years

I would like to pass 'this' on to anyone, that has an interest.... I found-it to be an interesting read
If true, this could mean that Governments [your's and mine] are permitting the premature-deaths
of hundreds of thousands of people, like you and me, for the sake of financial-interests, not mine, or your's, but their's

This, is a photo, of a hole in the Pentagon building
that was 'allegedly' caused, by a commercial aircraft during 9/11 (?)

upload_2017-3-31_22-33-2.png

( That plane, it had no wings ?? )
The only aircraft I know-of that hasn't got wings, is, a missile
Added, now, is a photo that alleges, this hole, later collapsed¬

Here, some artifacts, found amongst the destruction

upload_2017-3-31_22-36-39.png

Where is all of the seating ?
Where is all of the luggage ?

There little sign of fire-damage on the walls of this, now-cleared area
I also note, that there are no large pieces aircraft structure, nor, any-sign
of such, having-been dragged out of the building through the debris (on the floor)
upload_2017-3-31_22-41-2.png

Accepting that this 'mess' on the floor
is what would remain after, the collapse of FIVE STOREYS and, the roof
is here, on the floor or, that this remains AFTER the removal, of the rubble
is 'logically-impossible'

I praise God for, my senses, for my gifts and, for, my 'understanding'
for, my loving-heart, my peace, and for, every day, that I awaken-to

Nothing-much 'surprises-me', anymore

What 'name' is given-to_ 'suppression' of, alternative-opinion
[? censorship ?]

My recent post, concerning the 'Pentagon'(?) ~made no-reference, to 'other-places' on that day
such that, one might see the previous-post, as one might, a 'sabre-rattling'
or, even the 'baby's-rattle', landing, rather 'harshly'

My oh my
I am so-sorry, that I see 'things' so, radically-differently, to-yourself

:prayer:

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

Add, that the 'alleged-clean-up'(photo) is actually, one of 'a courtyard'
~ a 'space' between-buildings /different parts of buildings
and not 'aircraft-damage' AFTER rubble-clearance, had been 'completed' (?)

Just saying, that, while I have a 'secure-connection' to CF (security-software)
many will not have....
I had to use Google-Chrome, to get in here, as Microsoft Edge, kept baulking
with the 'message' "Warning, this site is unsafe"
My security system, has just provided me with a bunch of alerts
the codes-given, reference this information:

_
Fix the error
"This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources"

If you're getting "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources" error,
it's because Chrome is trying to protect you from a site that's not secure
to make sure your information on the page doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
If this happens, in the address bar you'll see a shield

.

Override alert
Although not recommended, you can choose to override the alert for the page
by clicking Load unsafe script.
Chrome will refresh the page and load its content, including any insecure content.
To show that the page isn't fully secure, the address bar at the top
will show https crossed-out in red:

The Old Man And His Dog

Shared by a friend of mine

The Old man and his dog

An old man and his dog were walking along a country road, enjoying the scenery,

when it suddenly occurred to the man that he had died.

He remembered dying, and realized, too, that the dog had been dead for many years.

He wondered where the road would lead them, and continued onward.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble.

At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall, white arch that gleamed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother of pearl,

and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He was pleased that he had finally arrived at heaven, and the man and his dog walked toward the gate.

As he got closer, he saw someone sitting at a beautifully carved desk off to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, but is this heaven?"

"Yes, it is, sir," the man answered.

"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up."

The gatekeeper gestured to his rear, and the huge gate began to open.

"I assume my friend can come in..." the man said, gesturing toward his dog.

But the reply was,

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought about it, then thanked the gatekeeper,

turned back toward the road, and continued in the direction he had been going.

After another long walk, he reached the top of another long hill, and he came to a dirt road

which led through a farm gate. There was no fence, and it looked as if the gate had never been closed,

as grass had grown up around it.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man just inside, sitting in the shade of a tree reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?"

"Yeah, sure, there's a well over there," the man said,

pointing to a place that couldn't be seen from outside the gate. "Come on in and make yourself at home."

"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.

"He's welcome too, and there's a bowl by the well," he said.

They walked through the gate and, sure enough, there was an old-fashioned well

and a bowl next to it on the ground. The man filled the bowl for his dog, and then took a long drink himself. When both were satisfied, he and the dog walked back toward the man,

who was sitting under the tree waiting for them, and asked, "What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.

"This is heaven," was the answer.

"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said.

"It certainly doesn't look like heaven, and there's another man down the road who said that place was heaven."

"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates?"

"Yes, it was beautiful."

"Nope. That's hell."

"Doesn't it offend you for them to use the name of heaven like that?"

"No. I can see how you might think so, but it actually saves us a lot of time.

They screen out the people who are willing to leave their best friends behind."
