  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Windows 10 or Edge is testing my patience and jumping me off the page or playing highlight and delete. Dave, I sympathise with you on your financial prblems. We find ourselves in a similar situation with the bank pouncing on our money for direct debits as soon as it appears in our account instead of waiting for the due date. Not much wonder elderly people used to keep their savings under their mattress or in a biscuit tin. After many years of being a 2 car family - we are in a rural location with little or no bus service - we have been limited to 1 car for the past couple of years because our main car broke down and was going to cost an unaffordable amount of money to fix, so we had to sell it back to the garage. Apart from that, it was costing too much to keep the 2 cars going.

Anyway, not doing a great lot today, except some tidying. Have just had a late lunch.

Have a great weekend!

Am now able to add

~that I am about to install, the chromium browser, to my Windows 10. 64-bit laptop
________________________________________ ^^as my DEFAULT browser

This, because, my 4 Gbs of RAM, cannot overcome the page-loading 'time' that this laptop, is being subjected-to
Microsoft Edge, may also be a root cause of our experiences. [comparison-check ~imminent]

I did check, [incidentally] that page prefetch was functioning, properly]
ie: any subsequent visit to a page I had visited [this-session] could be revisited and the page 'refreshed' then
to update the page from the browser's assigned 'memory'

My browser's HISTORY of "pages visited" is deleted [automatically] each time the browser is closed
Network Scans report ~"no problems were found"
Read and Write 'error-reports' were '0'

While I do have 'Internet Explorer' on this laptop, I have not activated it
IE, was hard enough to-secure, on XP Pro'

This evening, my connection 'dropped-off'
After several 'resets' of the modem
[something, that I have necessarily, had-to become proficient-at, in recent times]
I phoned 'TalkTalk', and reported my situation

My 'eight years' with this Internet Provider, doesn't earn me any 'Brownie-Points' with TalkTalk.net
It seems that whenever I have such 'drop-offs' the operator is always ABLE [within a very few minutes]
to-restore, my-connection, quickly.... ie: within a few keypresses

Forgive my suspicious mind.......
But I kind-of, get the feeling, that despite my paying-for 'ALWAYS-ON' (no download-limits broadband)
that I, along-with perhaps many-other subscribers, are being randomly-selected, for 'down-time'
to balance their 'actual' bandwidth resources

'Manesha' apologised, for my "bad experience", and as she spoke [perhaps, from India]
I wondered, about changing my Internet Service Provider, for-another perhaps more reliable / cheaper 'provider'
So, I asked-her, "at what date my contract with them, would next, come to an end?" to which, she replied
"it has ended Mr Batchelor, sir, it end 3rd April 2016"

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh the possibilities, are both, various and varied :D

more-later

Is this thread for like Random Thoughts or just whatever? Is there thread where we discuss the slim possibilities of the KC Royals making it back into the playoffs for a third year? haha.
I'm very new.
@davedajobauk . ? Are you a christian like I am a restoration movement christian? No hierarchy only a loose knit brotherhood? I know at one time there were several million in my kind of church. I have no idea nowdays.

If I knew anything about IT I would discuss it with you. haha.

Hello 3pete333,

I see that you are new here, so welcome to CF and the Golden Eagles. All truly saved people, regardless of denomination or church affiliation, are members of the one true church not made by human hands. That One True Church is the Church which is the Body of Christ, and Jesus Christ Himself is the head of His Church.

Romans 12:5 KJV So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Colossians 3:15-17 KJV And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

You can, [of-course] BEGIN YOUR-OWN THREAD
bearing-in-mind, that those threads MUST fulfil the requirements of site and forum rules

I do not discuss the rights and wrongs of anyone-else's walk with God

I think that Jesus Christ could Rapture His Church home to glory soon, but I'll just say soon. What a Glorious day that will be!

Getting worse

have been WAITING more than 11 months for this hernia repair
to be repaired again
But now, in the opposite corner, ie: on Right side TOP, just under my ribs,
I now have another hernia

It is making the filling of my right lung with-air so very very painful

If the discomfort doesn't ease soon, I will take myself off to A&E accident and emergency

In the early hours of this morning,
I was even contemplating, dealing with grumbling appendix... or worse

:prayer:

Hello Brother Dave,

You are in my prayers every day, but more prayers are on the way. May God give you comfort and walk with you every step of the way.

Still waiting, Dave? May the Lord grant you patience and relief from pain.

David and I were in Scotland at the weekend for my nephew's wedding. Lovely day. Long drive from the ferry terminal but definitely worth it.

Right now enjoying some 'elevenses' before D and I head out to the Senior Citizens' Lunch Club Christmas dinner at our church.

Thanks guys

I can honestly state: that, since writing that 'post'
the escaping intestine retracted (itself)
back inside the 'upper breach' AND
has not ventured-out again....
and, the area is no-longer painful to touch and explore
(palpate)

I am seriously-considering
~moving-BACK, to Bristol, soon
It wouldn't cost me too-much, to hire a van/truck, for a day
I have committed myself; to decide
~one way or, the other, AFTER Christmas

:prayer: for my path to be made 'clear' (well lit/signposted)

I am leaning-toward, having needed-surgery
at a more reliable hospital, than the hospital I am awaiting an appointment with, for surgery

Recent media reports suggest tens of elderly patients have recently died uneccessarily / in "avoidable-circumstances"
at this hospital due to patient neglect /wrongful prescribing

THEY, 'blame; Staff Shortages'

The inguineal hernia (repair)that has broken-down (?)
was repaired, at that very hospital, and I am loathe to return there

:(

Hello Brother Dave,

I will be praying that you get the best medical treatment and care quickly. In the meantime, may God give you comfort from your pain and guidance on the move you are thinking about.
