  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I seem to have a predisposition (susceptibility) to 'Dry Eye' (conjunctivitis)
and have Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment on repeat prescription at the chemists, for over 40 years, now.

:amen:

dave

At times I am also prescribed Chloromycetin Eye Ointment[/QUOTE]

Hi again Dave,

The doctor my daughter saw diagnosed blepharitis and prescribed chloramphenicol ointment, the same as what you use. She also has a stye in her left eye, but the doctor was unable to see it. It is very tiny and under her lower eye lid. Unfortunately she was having difficulty using the ointment, so it wasn't really helping, and the problem has spread to her other eye, with blurred vision into the bargain. I rang and told a receptionist at our surgery, who passed the message on to another doctor, who rang back. This second doctor sympathised about the ointment and said she would leave a prescription for eye drops for my daughter to use instead, but advised that she should see an optician. That should be happening on Tuesday. The eye drops are helping a little, but my daughter is still having problems, so I'm hoping the optician will be able to help her.

Hi HfJ Sis'

Yes, I did ask to try those drops, which when opened
MUST, be kept in a fridge.... were far too-cold a shock for my lens

The ointment, while smeary vision is noted, for a few minutes
is so much more-soothing
especially to an eyeball that has been scratched by rubbing that 'grit' around
I find it has LASTING lubricative properties

Each to their own

I hope her eyes heal quickly .... dealing with one's eyes, while they suffer
is not good for the patient, one's patience or, one's sense of well being

:prayer:

I might pass that tip on to my daughter, but she is now on blephasol which helps a little. She hasn't managed to get to the optician yet - she has a problem with keeping appointments. The problem started in her left eye and has spread to her right eye. Meantime her left eye has settled. She was supposed to be starting work at a social enterprise scheme months ago, but with this and other health issues, it hasn't happened yet.

This is my morning for the charity shop where I volunteer. We raise funds for missionary work in Mozambique. Must finish off my breakfast and get ready to go out.

Blessings to all for this day.

Yes, it is VERY INFECTIOUS (from eye to eye) as 'tears'
from the one affected eye roll across the face and, enter the other eye
The mucus, once it has crystallized, is very 'sharp' and can, scratch the eyeball

The bacteria that cause this infection, is-everywhere, in the environment
Ususally, our immune systems can, fight it off
However, some of us are genetically prone (not to be able to fight it off)
and need anti-bacterial help and additional lubrication for our eyes / eyelids
while being-attacked

:prayer: for relief and healing

Yes, HfJ Sis' and especially as these 'peoples'
were supposed to be without technology

So, these tunnels / Cities, were constructed before the Bronze Age (?) and well before the Iron Age

Imagine the manpower (whole lifetimes) involved-in, these constructions /excavations
Very creditable undertakings, beyond a doubt
Not the least for the labour involved in spoils removal and deposition
(without a mechanical conveyor)

dave

This reminds me of the huge statues found on Easter Island and on other islands in the region.

What kind of 'technology' did the Egyptians, Maya Indians and Inca have
Where they could, 'build' with hewn-stone, each weighing many tons
and so accurately-formed were those-stones, that you could not insert
even a piece of paper, between-them

The largest 'masonry' we see today, is machine-polished granite or, marble graveyard memorials

Sure !
I can shine some LIGHT on that............

You do a websearch, for "Funny, Clean and Free Images"
(emoticons)
and from the Search Results, you choose a site, to-visit
and you examine the images and select one.... like this ¬

tumblr_mjwyb05j4d1rl9600o1_1280.jpg

If you right click the image ^^^
and choose "copy image address"
you then hold that 'address', in your temporary-memory
You come to your message input-box and right-click in the window
and choose 'PASTE' from the menu
(or, press Ctrl and V together)

http://41.media.tumblr.com/af51602703432f9921a7cde0ace7e6b6/tumblr_mjwyb05j4d1rl9600o1_1280.jpg?.jpg

Now you must add the IMAGE SWITCHES before and behind that 'address' ¬

[ img]http://41.media.tumblr.com/af5160b05j4d1rl9600o1.....[ /img]

^^^________________________________________________^^^
image ON ______________address______________________ image OFF

Please note: that I deliberately LEFT a space, in both -switches
This, I did, to-display the characters needed without causing that RED [X] box to-appear
You, should NOT leave any spaces anywhere ..... you'll soon understand
and I also shortened, the address (deleted some of it)
The 'switches' are-important

When you have done that and posted your reply
you should see yourself Posting Images :)

Give it a try ...using the image above and post away below

Yes, each to their own indeed. My daughter finds that a drink can held on her eye is very soothing.

cooling, 'reduces' some swelling/inflammation

But I wouldn't want to cause congestion (blood vessel shrinkage)
in an area of inflammation ~acute-response to bacterial attack (?)
Best, keep them 'open', for active immune system-response to 'particular bacteria'
