Mary weighed herself this-morning
and smiled as she reported... "I am six and a half stones" / 91lbs
I have assured her, that she looks 'proportional' to her height
and, to have too-much EXTRA WEIGHT, could tire her more than was necessary
~"but you don't see me 'undressed', I am a bag of bones"
To which I replied: "People pay good money in attempts, to slim down to your size"
and I got a grin
Good morning all

The doorbell just rang... according to Caleb who flew off barking his loudest bark for me...leading me to the front door.
Two young men stood there facing Caleb and I... they were trying to earn money to buy their mom a Christmas gift...their offer? Sing a carol.
Caleb and I stood there together, listening, looking at one or the other... (such a perfect dog!) and then once the carol (deck the halls) was finished, I gave them each a dollar.
Smiles on faces.
I closed the door and Caleb and I looked at each other---what a marvelous thing just occurred!
When we are happy to accept, that, which we are 'given'
not only can we appreciate the value of the gift
but we show respect for the giver, who, has our best interests at-heart

I just 'found' this, and time has moved-on somewhat, since, it was first published
wonderful sentiments I believe

Dave bro., so sorry about your Mary.
My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Keep your Mary always with that smile.
You are able as I with my Kathy.
The flesh has perhaps had better days,
but the Day of the Spirit is today, the Day that the Lord hath made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
I have you both in my prayers.
Give God the glory!
We are back, from the hospital
We saw the surgeon,
who explained that Mary has inoperable esophageal cancer
It began at the joint between her esophagus and her stomach
and is inoperable, because
it has already metastasized beyond the lining of her stomach
She will begin chemotherapy after Christmas
He was talking in terms of months, rather than years
but offered
that some active ladies [as Mary is] have been cured [with chemo treatment]
~from this stage.... so, we have 'HOPE'
If you are led to pray for us, please, do so

Praying for the Lord's Presence and peace to be with Mary on her Birthday![]()
(especially during her testing and treatments to come).
May He bless all her days with much love and joy,
and bless you both with strength and hope in His Merciful Love![]()
We pray in the Name of Jesus for a positive outcome--
through His blood we are righteous
and have power to overturn the devil.![]()
Dear Dave, it's a shock to me to read this
BUT as it settles, I will keep on praying as I have all along.
I will hold Mary even more in prayer
and that she will be cured with chemo
and all the loving, caring prayers surrounding her.![]()
Thank you andMarsha Sis'
Yes, it was a bit of a surprise...
but considering our 'walk', so-far with all of it's 'ups and downs' [?]
we see this, as a part of the ongoing changes, that have been, are and will be included
Mary's 'prescription' has been left with the Pharmacy and the items, are "on-order"
The first delivery, will be on Monday next
Mary will have a 'Barium Meal' under x-ray ~for her birthday
District Nurses, have introduced themselves [on the phone]
and 'Christies' the cancer treatment hospital, now have Mary 'on their books'
Mary has been busy these past two days, wrapping presents
and I dropped her off at her daughter's home, about an hour ago
and will go and pick her up in another couple of hours
The entire family have received the news
this includes Mary's ex-husband, who showed up here, last night, he was very plainly upset
at the news of Mary's announced 'affliction' [via: an adult child of the family]
He left, feeling much-better than, the state he was in, when he arrived
Where He 'leads', we will follow
God bless you Marsha Sis'
