Yeah! - It rained all day today, and there's more in the forecast for tonight and the next several days. Thank you Lord.

On top of everything else, the high today was just 80F / 27C. It's also supposed to be cooler over the next several days.

we didn't get the rain but we got the cool over here. Ooops, wait, it's raining now. I don't know how far over into OK you are from the panhandle border. I was born in Duncan. My folks moved to Amarillo when I was 2 yrs old. I still have aunts, uncles & cousins in okla. In fact, I just inherited mineral rights from Stephens Co when my mother passed away last October but I don't know anything about them other than companies keep trying to buy them from me. I haven't got any money though from the royalties yet of course. LOL. I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing either regarding them.
But I'm not selling, I know that much.

My uncle who was from Stephens co too was the county sheriff here in Amarillo for 16 years. His name was Jimmy Don Boydston. I know you were a policeman for a long time, I thought maybe you two guys crossed paths somewhere along the line. He was a police officer & homicide investigator before he became sheriff.

Anyway, just FYI, thought I'd let you know I'm a fellow Okie.

I live in Lawton - about 30 miles West of Duncan and 50 miles North of the Texas border in Southwest Oklahoma. I really don't know if I met your uncle or not. You meet a ton of people in 25 years of law enforcement. I hope that you do well with your property rights.

yes of course I know where lawton is. We drive through there on our way to Duncan. Plus my uncles were stationed at Ft.Sill, etc etc. Lots of Lawton stories in my memory banks.

It happened!!!

My Dell's display has ceased to exist
I have a few minutes on Mary's to explain [before bed]
and maybe sometime during the course of the coming days
while Mary goes about doing other things

Such things are not, in my hands

All I can say, is that, whenever I can, get in here, I WILL

UPDATE:


Having received another graphics card [from our window cleaner] [?]
I finally got around to beginning to replace my old one [today]

Here is what happened......

I opened the case of my computer, and removed the "penny battery" for a few moments
this, to remove the 'Flea static charge' that supports [old] bios settings on the motherboard
and, lo and behold.... my Dell computer is again functioning.... WITH ~the old graphics card in situ

My 'guess' is
that when I downloaded 'drivers' from Dell for my computers 'bits and pieces'
the 'bios' was thrown a wobbly [aka: a curved-ball]
and couldn't handle what it was receiving and shut down the display somehow


For now, I am 'up and running' [in the Dell PC]
and, have not located any problems
I will now, carry out a system compatibility check
and wll also, run a DskChk\ F on the drives
But, this post, confirms
I have internet access, with a very decent 'screen view' of this site

But [for now anyway] I needn't go to that expense

We are back \o/

We left home @ 9 am and just returned @ 6.30pm

We have spent most of the day in Blackpool
and I feel like I have 'walked my legs off'

I feel, a NAP coming-on, sometime soon!!!

Have a load of beach pictures and some of the Pleasure Park <videos> [from outside]
as we waited for the bus to take us home

What a HOT day it has been ..... phew!!!
This weather, can really suck the energy out of you
