Yeah we haven't seen this in a while; it is well overdue... we have been in a snow drought since last winter.

We have 2 great lakes that are way short on water now...not enough snow...this is going to affect us all eventually.

Thank goodness for your wood stove. We had one for years, wish we still did.
Ours is an old model, and not air tight...so a lot of work to keep it going, but we love it because it has a grill that attaches to the door for cooking meats

Yes it will...from coast to coast; no rain or snow spells trouble down the line!
I heard about the blizzard coming your way from other online friends in your area, Gail. One is happy and one not so much. The snow is missing this part of Ohio.
Tonight they said it could be a record storm; time will tell...as long as everyone is safe

I know you love snow; as long as I have power and all the provisions I need at home, I don't mind a good snow storm occasionally...cold keeps me from venturing out much anyway. However, I feel bad for folks who depend on caregivers even more than I. If the aides are snowed in, one lady there in Randolph said she'll be stuck in bed until someone can get to her. I am concerned for her.. I "met" her on another Christian forum; the Lord will keep her, somehow.

You are very familiar with a world I don't know much about...but the infirm must suffer more than normal during bad storms.

Well, my 'love' for snow has tempered over the years :D

It is great to get out and snowshoe, but it isn't as easy to clear it these days, and we both feel the pain and fatigue after big snows.:o

Ice dams on the roof and other concerns keep us vigilant, as well as not breaking or necks in the process!

In the past *I* was the who ventured out in storms to see my patients as a Visiting Nurse, so I hear your concerns, and include you
and all the home bound in my prayers

I do love a good storm as long .....as everyone is safe and comfy!

That's where neighbors can be of help...or relatives staying to care for them (or take them to their homes) etc

Many times in really bad storms, the nurses and home health aides would check on patients that lived close to their homes...even if they weren't assigned specifically to them.

Well, Gail, you and hubby take care and be careful. I'll be praying for you as well. I forgot you were a visiting nurse.

IFJ, in Ohio, we're all supposed to have a backup plan; not all do in reality. The lady I referred to is a very gutsy woman. She lives in a seniors apartment with her husband, also disabled. She is 100% helpless. Maybe someone in the apartments will help, but she's worried.

Thank you

Having seen many abandoned by their families, I still think and pray for people like them in times like this :o

Praying for their peace, care, and safety...and all others like them

I hate the snow, here in the UK it turns to sludge and ice really quickly and is so dangerous to go walking. I stay in if I can. I feel so much for those where they are snowed in completely, I will be praying for all those metioned today poor loves, that the Lord takes care of all there needs working poweruly and miraculously for them.

I have been very poorly last few days, I have overdone things because of our moving end of month, I just have not got the energy to do what needs doing I feel achy and extremely tired.

Everything has a 'season'

A Time for Everything

1. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil?
10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart;
yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.
13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it
and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.
15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.
16 And I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there.
17 I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”
18 I also said to myself,
“As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.
19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both:
As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath;
humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless.
20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.
21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward
and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot.
For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

:prayer:

There is always 'tomorrow' for everything that is missed, today

Glad you had a nice time Shirley :)

We have WILD weather on the way for Friday & Saturday

BLIZZARD WARNINGS are out and we can get up to 24 INCHES OF SNOW (some spots could see 30 inches) :swoon:

The snowshoes are by the door

*power outages are quite possible, so if I am MIA....you will know why
I will be by the wood stove or out snowshoeing :D

Wow! - It wouldn't be good to be a short person with weather like that. One would have to jump up to see where they are. :D

Take care and stay warm.

Our news of the moment involves a former police officer gone nuts, killing some and threatening to kill more...as of now he has not been captured.

If he is in Big Bear, where they found his burning car...that is not that far from us.

Lord, help the law officers get this guy.
