Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone has a great weekend. My wife and I got a gym membership, and we're getting ready to go for the first time. Both of us have health problems, so we plan to take it slowly and one step at a time.

SMILE - thankfully it's contagious.

I find if I can keep active, I feel better...but must always sort of read my strength for each day as to how much is good. Wish I could do a lot more...still fight with old memories of being much more active.:thumbsup:

Things went great at the gym. Nobody made fun of us, and there are all kinds of machines that just about anyone can use at Planet Fitness. We mainly did the tread mill and bicycle with a back on it today. 1 hour was plenty, and we went at our own pace. We'll explore other machines on our next visit.

That sounds good....I have been interested in using a recumbent bicycle from time to time...is that what you used?

So much 'talk' here about "exercise"

We intended to attend David's grading Sunday afternoon
so, I went out to the car Sunday morning [yesterday] and tried to start it
but, while I could hear the fuel pump in operation, I could not get it started...

I grabbed the fuel container from the boot and my walking stick
and set off for the bus stop to find Sunday Services [every hour]
and so, with 55 minutes before the 'next' ~I began 'walking'

3/4 of a mile later, I felt a throb in my trouser pocket, followed by
my mobile's ringing tone...
It was Mary [now, out of bed] ~"where are you"
I explained that I was 'fetching petrol' and, was almost there
[short of 200 yards or more]
She said she would walk down and meet me

At the Filling Station, I filled the container with 5 litres of unleaded [£6 / USD $9.oo]
and began the 'walk' home

Actually, it was more of 'a shuffle'...
Well, you would know what I mean, could you have, observed me

I met up with Mary, very near the point at-which, I had received her call [earlier]
and she took the container from me
and we walked the remainder of the distance together

Most of the return journey is an incline
rising between one foot in every eight feet and one foot in every twelve feet
My lower legs suffered from claudication
and my right hip and coccyx area were giving me 'gyp' for my labours
[Desperate times, call for, desperate measures]

Having infused the car's fuel tank with the five litres, I flattened the battery
while trying to start it and considered bump-starting the car in the street
but, realising that Mary and I would be unable to get the car back on the drive
[should it fail to start] I called Mary's son 'David' and asked if he would
drive to our's with his jumper leads, which he was happy to do

After maybe three or four minutes of turning it over, our car sprang into life \o/

We finished 'getting ready' and drove over to David's family home to join them
for young David's grading in another part of town
To cut a long LONG STORY short
~the car we were to follow to the venue [at Sale.. in another borough]
disappeared ahead of us, in busy traffic
and so we were compelled to return home with David's cousin on the rear seat
Our disappointment at failing to be present, is offset, by David's success
and also his mother's posting pictures of, his grading examination

I grabbed a nap of several hours on the settee [late-afternoon]
and also awoke today 'very surprised', not-to 'suffer' aches and pains for, my incredible walking [yesterday]

one 'step' at a time.... followed by another... still, 'gets you there'

Wow; you had quite the day Dave

I'm glad to hear you decided to join the group, and hope your time is blessed Shirley

I got a solid night's sleep (crashed is more like it lol) PTL

Today we are putting our house back together ~ pictures up, curtains washed and up, books/CDs/tapes back on the shelves, polishing furniture, and cleaning our kitchen floor/living room/hall rugs.

Looking at all the chores listed, it make take 2 days :swoon:^_^

Have a blessed day everyone

That sounds like a full day for you Gail...I may take a nap later...probably will need it. But, I got a lot of little things done early....will leave for this meeting soon.

Seeing it is after 11am, it will be just a 1/2 day of work = 2 days work to finish ^_^

We are still tuckered out from painting :p

Penny has a grooming appt tomorrow so that will free us up too (she must 'supervise' all our activities ;) )

YOU have already had a full day....take good care

Yes, I'm almost sure that's what they call it. I have a bad back and must have support. I found it very easy to use, and it was a pretty good workout. You can set whatever tension you want on the pedaling and work up as you get into better shape.

Hi all my lovelies, letting you know that I am back but not without setbacks and need for prayer, we are all moved in to our new home but we have all been really poorly, as the cold weather did not let up and we had flu and colds twice over and I have just had a severe migraine and very sick for a whole week, I am still very weak and only just starting to get back to regular meals, as I am on thyroxine meds not having food means the meds were not working well so my body is really run down and now hoping that as at last there is some sunshine we will all start picking up.

I would really appreciate prayers for healing from the Lord.

I have some catching up to do with you folks, and will read as much as I can. hope you have all been well, you have all been in my prayers precious ones.

Love you loads. Debs.

Still trying to unwind....being with people can wear me out, yet I need to be with them anyway...I need to grow a bit in patience for sure.

Maybe you can put things back bit by bit...I do that some days after bringing in a lot of groceries...just take it in stages...everything gets done in time.

(((((hugs)))))
