I am concerned about you for the shingles vaccine...if you have had chicken pox, you probably need the shot...because you are very sensitive...but that sensitivity is a cause for concern as well...not an easy call.

I have a friend who lost her daughter to chicken pox...the girl was 20 years old when she died. The stuff went into her lungs....
I trust my doc...he saved my life a couple times; we'll see what he says about it. :)

Pox and measles in an adult is very serious; how sad for that family :(
Yes it is getting late. Long day shopping with lunch out.
Movie with a little popcorn in our comfy recliners.
Hello there Rene, welcome to the forum.
The goodnight bear give me a smile, like that old saying. :)
Hi Norah

I also had chickenpox as a child....

Should I WAIT until Health Service proposes a 'campaign'
or, approach my doctor re a vaccine jab anyway

Hi Norah :wave::wave:

I have just, set up a standing order via 'online banking'
This, to help Mary out with 50% payment [half]
of a rent shortfall, caused by a change of income

Apparently, when I became 65 last month [?] my income 'title'
changed, from "Pension Credit" to "State Pension"
and this caused an automatic suspension of my income

Government Policy dictates, that everyone will now, contribute 'more'
Where, in recent past, our rent was CREDITED 100%
we now have four weeks arrears and regular weekly payments to find

As Mary, is required, to make the payments, I have ensured
that 'my share', will, always be in her account, ahead of, those payouts

My dr never mentioned the shingles vaccine to me Dave...it was Hubby's dr who gave him a prescription for it...got me to think seriously for getting one myself...contacted my dr and got approved to get one. You are certainly in the target group to get one.

The money problem is everywhere...big governments taking over the world.

LOL... there is 'so-much', that 'flies in the face' of possibility
[for me, personally]
It would COST___ 'no small-fortune'
and back-packing, such an adventure, is beyond my body LOL

"Cop Out" .... nah, Yvie, this is.... 'the stuff of dreams'
and, I have 'already' made that trip :)

You'll have-to be patient... until I win the lottery

LOL

I buy a ticket once in a while just for the chance to dream about these things. I guess our back-packing days are over, lol. Sure would be nice to see you arrive in one of these...then we could have a sleepover at your place! God bless you dear brother! You're still always welcome in my home!

:wave:I have a fairly quite couple of days ahead. I don't expect anyone to stop over and Tim is spending the night with a church family to help with their horse fence. I guess they bought a new horse and the others ganged up on him. In all the turmoil, they ran through the electric fence.

Anyway, quite is nice, although I do enjoy having my son around. Well, I'm sure most of you know the pros and cons of young adult children. Tim has no wild side, so I'm grateful for that.:clap:

Hello and welcome to those that I haven't seen here before.

Hello, everyone else.

Hello Everyone,

It's Friday, and guess what's just about here - HAPPY WEEKEND!

I just watched part of a newscast about the massive storm off the East coast. Those in the path of it will be in my prayers.

It's a quite weekend for me also. I live on my own, have 3 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren, the oldest being 20 and the youngest just under one yr old. They all live within driving distance so I get to see them alot.
I'm also on the lower end of the totem pole financially, live in gvmnt housing and cant wait till the 3 yrs is up to get boasted from disability to old age securuty. I dont know what thats like in the states but in canada that means a 300 increase.
My oldest daughter just moved to the area after being quite a distance away so maybe I'll be able to spend some time with her this weekend. If not I think I'll just hunker in with a good book. Thanks again for making me feel welcome. Have a great weekend everyone!

I love being around my son...even when we are not in the same room...both busy with different things, still he is near.

The weekend will be quiet here...I need to do some weeding in the yard, not a big job...just seems like I like sitting more and more...

Love the kitty videos, Meadowlark. I have two sons. One lives a block and a half away and my youngest just moved home a week ago after living/working out of town for fifteen months. I've been widowed for a little over two years. My husband had been ill for quite a while, however. I declare, I only just got used to living alone when I got the call that he was coming home. I'm happy to have him, but it changes the way I shop and such. He's filling out job applications already. No complaints, really, just adjustments.
He has an icky day to be working outside. It's raining and quite chilly. Hopefully, he took his rain jacket. Yesterday was heavenly.

So, I'm no longer aloneagain!

Stopping by to say hello before the grandkids come for the night.

I laid low today because of my headache (which is finally starting to ease), but left my head and neck tender.

We did get out for a stroll; the weather is beautiful before the effects of the hurricane hit us.
The track/impact is still uncertain, but we can expect high winds and rain at the very least.
If we don't get a direct hit, we can enjoy the weekend; ;) otherwise we will have to prepare the house and property for the high winds.

Praying for all directly in the path of the storm; be blessed

Actually, hearing my help complain about his messes is the only downside. He tries to not be messy, but he overlooks things. They'll adjust or I'll cut back on my hours. My loyalty is to my baby, of course. I'm happier when he's hear. Of course, he's not thrilled about living in a small town with not even a movie theater.

Enjoy your grandsons, Gail.

Well, Gail, the local weatherman just said it's uncertain how much Sandy effects us. If is goes north to MA, we may get nothing at all. Praying neither of us get it too bad.:prayer:

I've had the empty nest syndrom often with my youngest. She used to return for awhile and then leave again for another year or two, then come back for another short stint. Of course I loved having her around but when she left again it took ages to remember what I used to do on my own. :D

That is a small town indeed...I forgot about my son's messy ways...he is messier than his dad.
