Hi y'all

I am back from my hospital appointment, where, for the very first time 'ever'
I met with the Consultant Cardiologist [Dr Cooper] herself

Wow!!! I felt really privileged [not!]
Well after a chat, which established 'no-change' in my 'condition' since last-seen
She scanned my chest [back and front] with a stethoscope
and upitrated my 'beta-blocker' from 2.5mg to 3.75mg [starting tomorrow]

I will receive a new appointment for the hospital's heart-failure nurse
at my local health centre in the post
and once the Consultant has viewed the results
of my up and coming MRI scan of my heart
she will have her secretary, send me another appointment, to see her

So, I have reported
no further peripheral oedema, since the Furosemide @40mg has been established
[as yet another pill in my morning meds ensemble]
I have no angina_
although I did mention a number of 'twinges' [occasionally] that passed very-quickly
and, I have had no breathlessness /shortness of breath, since Ramipril was prescribed for me

It could be around four to five weeks before I visit the hospital again

Hello everyone!

I got a call from boss yesterday that I cannot return to work today b/c of the way I completed my request to return to work. I asked for 1-3 months time to return to full duty and the statement from my doctor shows that he wants me doing sitting/sedentary work for 6 weeks. I explained that I asked for 1-3 months b/c dr. told me that after I got out this permanent cast, it would still be another 3-6 months, maybe even a year before I am completely healed. I don't know at what point the doctor will approve full duty, which is another reason I asked for 1-3 months. I faxed another statement, changed my 1-3 months to 6 weeks to jive with what doctor said. I am having after thoughts of worry for having done that, but, it's too late now. I've already submitted the statement. I pray this doesn't come back to haunt me.

I am going to my part time job tonight, feel like I shouldn't be/c of the work policy that if I can't work my full time job I can't work my part time job, but, at this point, I am more worried about what all of this is going to do to me financially! FMLA protects that I have a job, but, with with leave exhausted, I have no income other than my part time job.

Yes I see the cause of your anxiety

It lays between factual 'written evidence' and
your request for even more 'time-off'
which is, based-upon 'hearsay' in your employers opinion

Perhaps, a copy of the 'statement' would have been more supportive of your request

Time [now] I am sure, to approach the doctor's office [doctor/ secretary]
and set out a request for a 'more-definitive prognosis'
and 'a-determination' of, the MINIMUM healing time he/she envisions for you

With this 'in writing' your employer is bound to accept, your continued absence, for that period

:prayer:

I was up very early, on the road around 6:30am...had a pretty easy freeway trip home...I am pooped....but most everything is out of the car...Lap Top in place, laundry going, etc...I need to just sit in a non-moving chair. I was home...in the kitchen about 11:45am...made good time with 3 stops. Gracie was very good the whole way. Got to enjoy cooler, damp weather...our whole State is very dry...very, very dry.
