Good morning (afternoon)
We loved taking our English Springer Spaniel out on the trails by the local beaver pond.
It was fun to watch her jump up when in the tall grass, to look for us and our next command :)
We had to keep a small cow bell on her collar so she wouldn't surprise any wildlife.

Penny is just too little and easy prey for the animals here, so she must stay on leash, on the road.

Sadly, there are so many diseases associated with the bugs out back (ticks, mosquitoes) and deer flies that swarm, we only go out back after the hard freeze through spring.
Animals are a concern too....bears, coyotes, fisher cats etc etc.

We prefer to remain safe/healthy in our advancing age, and she is just as happy being pampered and skipping the 'bush wacking' ^_^

Have a great day

Love the chatting here this morning...I was up very early today...am starting to clean things and put them away, some things will be trashed. These painters are just super clean, they have evrything cleaned up each evening after their work day...we can enjoy the house, even with the furniture pushed out of place.

Gracie got a short walk...it was enough, the mornings feel hot now. I am going to sit a spell....:)

have you had any floods david,

Thankfully no, we haven't Emmliy

We live [almost] on the crest, of a small hill
With the River Irwell, some 20-30 feet or so, below [at the bottom]

The river has overflowed in past years, but new works upon it's banks
has kept in-check [so far]
Any similar 'breakouts', would not affect our home, in any way

I am happy things are going well for you
We have switched to walks before dinner now, also because of the heat.
Today is a lazy day to just putter around doing small/odd chores; tired from running around the past few days I guess :p
Think I will join you in a SIT down

glad you dont get any david ,is it nice where you are

I like it

However, what is good for one, may challenge another's values

We, find ourselves in an not too urban setting [housing is less dense, than elsewhere]

The area is fairly-quiet
and the many mature trees in public areas
lends, a really nice rural 'feel', to the place

We also find ourselves [pretty-much] 'central' to all amenities and public services
So, all in all, we, WOULD consider it nice yes!

Mary has lived in the area, all of her life
and has spent 31 years in this particular house... It 'grew on her' from the very-first day :D

I have posted pictures of hereabouts [in the past] and may do so again very-soon

What do they do for this surgically?

They cut the muscles or whatever they need to and take pressure off of a nerve in the wrist.

Hope all goes well for your surgery Tom. We have a Samsung 'tablet', and that is done just by touch. So much easier than typing.
Speedy recovery wishes sent your way..

Thank you sincerely for your prayers.

Shirley Sis'

I found this page, to be great 'illustratively' both for the condition
and also the surgical treatment of it

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pain. Far Infrared CTS gloves help relieve the Pain of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Glove for CTS relief.

Extract:
Warning: surgical release operations come with some very real risks.
Excessive bleeding, infection and nerve damage are a real possibility.
Even though, severe problems occurring from surgery are rare, there’s always a risk.
You will experience pain, swelling and stiffness, regardless of the long-term outcome.
Symptoms may be relieved immediately after surgery, but full recovery, from carpal tunnel surgery, can take months!

I hope it aids your understanding

looking-up info' on your problem Tom

I came across this, > Learn How To Use C TRAC | Video

It seems the 'condition' can be relieved without surgery ... albeit for; $150.oo [+P&P]
~It also does both hands /for a couple of minutes each day [?]

I've had the condition for a long time, and it has gotten pretty severe. I don't know if this is an option for me or not, but it wasn't mentioned by the Neurologist or Orthopedic surgeon. I think I would opt for the permanent solution and I'm already scheduled for the surgery. I've put up with this for years, and it's to the point that it's even waking me up when I sleep. I appreciate the information, but I'm really looking forward to being pain and numbness free for good.

First, I sincerely appreciate the prayers of everyone. I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome 10 years ago and did nothing about it. I've had so many problems recently that I decided to do exactly what the doctors tell me to do. So, I'm definitely going to have the surgery and hopefully celebrate soon with being pain and numbness free. Sister Gail, I already have the ergonomic keyboard, but I'll double check to make sure I have the best kind. Once I'm free of this problem, I certainly don't want it again.

Good news: we've had two really nice rains over the last couple of days. Our farmers and ranchers in the area are all giving thanks because we were headed into the problems of prolonged drought again.

'RSI' is a real-pain, of that, there is no doubt

However, I would [personally] weigh the surgeon's option
against the 'paid-work' he is promoting
_given the knowledge freely available

Your long term experience with that problem
provides you with a great deal of [very personal] 'hands-on' experience_ pun not-intended
Anything done repeatedly and for long periods can wear down body parts
and PC operators are-advised to stand up and move around [do, other-things]
after, two hours at the keyboard

Doing other things [instead / as well] can help avoid those symtoms

Surgery, has it's risks [of failure] too

Your hope of relief "from pain and numbness for good"
may not come from surgery ~it could come back, afterwards

I guess, what I am saying, really comes down to;
alternative exercise of those areas, then being 'a more natural' solution

I will keep your wrists/hands in prayer, for the best of outcomes
whatever solution you aim for
:prayer:

Well...it has taken you a long time to decide on the surgery...we will be praying for you Tom...I had a "gangleon" (?) removed surgically when I was about 23...It was the right thing to do...the cyst was right on the inside of my wrist and my thumb used to get "stuck", the tendon being pulled backwards and over that bump...I remember the cast being painful...it had to be adjusted, but the recovery was fairly fast.

Well, I did look up one link on this surgery...it really is not a guaranteed deal as to what the outcome will be...so we do need to pray for Tom.
