Well, I did look up one link on this surgery...
it really is not a guaranteed deal as to what the outcome will be...
so we do need to pray for Tom.

Yes, Shirley, this was how I read it to mean

For sure, I didn't mean to sound quite so-discouraging
however, I would be remiss, did I not, bring my Brother's attention
to a greater risk than he may have been aware of

Yes, let us all pray for Tom's recovery from his pain and numbness
and may his healing be swift and permanent
:amen:

Thanks Brother Dave - I really appreciate it. I got information, risks, and possible outcomes from three different doctors. Worst case scenarios are pretty awful, but the percentages for worst cases are tiny. I have prayed about this and feel led to do it. Two of the three doctors receive no money from the surgery, and the reputation of the surgeon is excellent.

My regular, personal doctor described this as a minor procedure that would be done in about 10 minutes. The surgeon will be using the latest method that will involve a cut of about 1 inch. It will be outpatient, so I'll be going home shortly afterward. Regardless, I sincerely appreciate the prayers.

Hi all

I won't be staying long today

I have been busy all day 'painting' walls
~the downstairs hall, stairwell and the upstairs landing [Beige vinyl-emulsion]

It has been a long day and I am, well-tired

Hoping you have all had a good day

The main living rooms of the house are finished now...I spent part of the day outside in the motorhome...some of the smells bother me when they are freshly applied...it does not take long for the vapors to go away tho...our painter loves the brand of paint we are using.

Tomorrow they work down the hall and into the master bedroom and bath.

The weather is very humid here...and it bothers me...typical of mid July.

Hi Emmliy

Rest well everyone; good night and God bless

No I did not forget you....I thought I had you in a multi quote

I am not stressed...did pray for my attitude yesterday and the Lord helped me not to be grumpy...LOL.

These 2 guys are easy to have at work in the house and the new paint is sooo pleasing to us...makes the disorder easier to live with.
I will be glad to have it finished, it should look so much better for a long time.

I was just teasing you; I saw my quote but no reply ;)

Glad things are going well, and you like the work

We got taken the last time we had it done (both of us were working).
Even though I expressed some concerns, the owner gave endorsements for his guys and the assurance that all was well.
We see now the poor work they did or paints used etc( it didn't last), and now we must do it all over again too soon (and they are out of business ;big surprise).

Good night and God bless

These painters have done work for my son Brian several times through the years. This is the son who is estranged from us...our family situation is improving I think. Anyway, Brian's wife is very picky, very clean, and very creative...We knew if Tresa liked them they would be acceptable for us...so far eveything is going very well...we chose the paint brand...more expensive than what some would use, this painter loves it.

I know how risky it is to hire trades...wish it was not so, but it is, the customer always gets the worst end of the deal.

Very true ...but sad!

Continued prayers for your family; things sound hopeful though (praise God)

Hi Shirley Sis'

We 'needed-to' ~make a start

There is no way, that we could afford to pay for it to be done :p
We have 'a stash' of paints in the shed
and I mixed up some 'milky coffee' with 'brilliant white' and a 'hint of pink' to make a 'beige'

I began, on the premise; that I would 'work' at a comfortable pace
and would STOP, if I felt I was doing too-much
Actually, I managed quite well, having brush-painted the borders and 'rolled', the in-betweens
The 'trips' up and downstairs, during the afternoon, were very tiring
and this morning, I am aware of, a mild acheing in my buttocks and upper-thighs
I do, still have to roll the wall behind the hall radiator-panel
and 'touch up' some spots of wall colour on the ceilings
BEFORE, I continue to 'gloss paint' the woodwork [Brilliant White]
and be able to call that 'job', "completed"
But hey ho... we are over the hill.....

We are still discussing, 'which', comes next.... Kitchen or, the Living Room

:D

We must do whatever we can _with what we have
and accept
that we have no deadline, by which time, WE MUST, COMPLETE
Our time is, our own :D

I am very happy that I could accomplish so-much as I was able yesterday
and, if the gloss painting, takes me, two or, three days to complete
I won't mind at-all

I will get-there, one day at a time

I did [many years ago] take-on such jobs, for a living
[trading-as: Bee Property Services]
and had many SATISFIED CUSTOMERS, who, were, quite happy
to supply unsolicited references, with their cheques [recommendation]

These references helped me to become sole contractor
on a listed building renovation [A Georgian House]
Where I installed, a reproduction marble fireplace and hearth
Firedoors and frames, Glass Chandeliers and reproduction wallpapers
and an enclosed toilet cubicle on the second storey landing
The firm, that employed me for this work, contacted me, about a year later
regarding further-works, but I had ceased trading, due to failing health by then

So, with such experience behind me, preps' method and finish
is just so very-familiar to me, that it is hardly 'a task'
I am [still] able, to 'take it, in my stride'

you really are very creative Dave... And still doing what little jobs you can do...
My hubby hates to paint, I did most all of the painting when we were younger. This house is needing 20 gallons plus some to cover everything.

I am tired today and glad these workers don't mind cleaning cobwebs and such before they paint...I am letting them do more today, since I am pooped out from moving all the breakables and wall hangings, etc.

WE had a lot of lightning early this am....we did not sleep well at all last night...it was very humid :o:angel:.
