It's so hard keeping a dog to limited activity

It is very hard, she really wants to run and play...hard, I let her outside, to run free in the yard last week...she ran like crazy after the birds...it made me very nervous for her, I got her inside in a hurry.

It is very hard, she really wants to run and play...hard, I let her outside, to run free in the yard last week...she ran like crazy after the birds...it made me very nervous for her, I got her inside in a hurry.

You may have to keep her on leash or use a runner ;not on the cable but just attached to the house, so she can't go too far?

Our complete back yard is fenced, so we really don't have to worry about much. Still, we go out with them to make sure a big bird doesn't carry one of them off.

They chase birds, squirrels, and rabbits are various times of the day. Night is when it gets fun - crickets, June bugs, lightning bugs and just about anything that moves. They've managed to catch a few bugs, and it's always hilarious. We have a big light in the back yard, so it's fun to spend some time out there every night. If you can't tell, it doesn't take much to entertain us.

We have a fenced back yard and we double fenced it for Gracie...the worry is her twisting her leg again. She is very agile, very athletic...very quick and she gets "on the muscle" when she is excited. "On the muscle" is what we used to say about horses, who would tighten up their muscles when they were excited about something. You can feel her tighten up even in the house when she gets excited, that puts extra stress on her joints and muscles.

I was just watching the fireflies last night (actually @ 2 am ); they are wonderful to watch!

Penny is becoming a skilled ANT CATCHER ~ if one makes it into the house, she rounds them up with her paw until we notice.
It is cheaper than bug spray

really do need rain around here.. had a nice wet spring but it is soooo dry here now... I'm kind of glad I never planted a garden. Had good strawberries and a good blackberry crop but that is alout all I can hope for I think.

I'm Tom, and I live in Southwest Oklahoma - just about 50 miles North of Texas. I'm a retired police officer, so now you know part of the reason for my user name. I ran a Christian and Law Enforcement Bulletin Board for many years, and the name of it was 357 Magnum. I give thanks that God was with me throughout my career in Law Enforcement.
