China promotes coal in setback for efforts to cut emissions
The majority of electricity in China is produced by coal, and now they plan to boost coal production. The Biden administration is clamping down on fossil fuel production in the United States, which is some of the cleanest produced product in the world. Global warming will only be hastened.

Lol! No such thing as clean fossil fuels. China using more coal is not a good excuse for doing the same.

China's not the only government making things worse. The "good guy" governments make noble plans to change 20 years from now (again)

Nobody's actually making an effort to change things, so why should china? Guess we'll see if man can break what God made to last forever.

The Biden administration is clamping down on fossil fuel production in the United States,

What policy implemented by Biden has reduced US coal production?

India is also increasing coal consumption as the cost of liquid natural gas has more than doubled.

CBS reported the U.S. was increasing coal consumption in 2021.

"All these high-tech, non-polluting renewables are bad. Let's return to a centuries-old method of power production, just like this communist country"

Yes, and people have been pleading with Joe to get rid of the restrictions and regulations he has imposed. In this way the world can be supplied with cleanly produced natural gas and oil. And what has Joe done?

So your argument is China is messing up the world and hastening Global Warming so the USA should go and do likewise!?

The U.S. became a net energy exporter not long before Joe took office. The U.S. pollution standards are far about those of Russia and China. We have enough energy to supply all of Europe. But Biden has, instead of allowing the U.S. companies to do this, did the opposite and greatly restricted the U.S. fossil fuel industry in the United States. As a result, a higher percentage of dirty fossil fuels are being used in the world, accelerating global warming.

Maybe it is because there are so many people who are not happy with his administration? What is his approval percentage now?

Nah, that's not the reason. This thread didn't even mention the USA in the title, and still I knew that it would be nothing but a tool against biden.

You have yet to demonstrate the US has "enough energy to supply all of Europe." Hey, but it's a nice theory.

We do, but that means we need more refineries and pipelines, but instead of allowing these to progress the Biden administration has been slowing or stopping such infrastructure projects in this time of dire need. Even after Russia attacked Ukraine ships with LNG were still in U.S. ports because of Biden red tape. It's a major project and it takes someone with enough business acumen to head the project. Today were are burning off natural gas, it really makes me sick to see it.

It still takes years to develop infrastructure such as LNG ports and refineries. The fossil fuels are still on the way out even if recent events have created temporary energy problems.

There has to be a balance of between creating a long term excess for fossil fuel infrastructure which makes it harder to transition away from them and between nation's estimated energy needs.

Also to give China it's due they are heavily invested in renewable energy for energy security, environmental and other reasons.

Renewable energy in China - Wikipedia

Even if they feel the need to temporarily increase their coal based energy production it doesn't mean they are abandoning their transitioning to cleaner energy sources.

Burning coal is preferable to freezing your backside on unheated apartment but it is not an energy solution of the future. Neither are other fossil fuels.

The U.S. does have enough energy to supply all of Europe. Russia supplies more energy to Europe than the U.S.

The pandemic caused a massive drop in global oil demand, the price of gasoline went to $2.00 a gallon because of a glut on the market. Dozens of oil companies were bankrupted. OPEC cut production by millions of barrels a day. Drilling slowed as some wells are unprofitable when oil prices are low. Layoffs occurred. Trump saw very high unemployment happening toward the end his term. Massive government stimulus was voted on by a bipartisan Congress. It produced a record high Federal budget deficit.

This oil production chart shows a time when the world was running out of oil and a drop in production. Fracking started to turn oil production to a positive trend c. 2010. The pandemic shutdowns and work from home drop in fuel usage is visible on the chart during 2020 when oil production decreased during Trump’s final year.
U.S. Crude Oil Production - Historical Chart

Fracking is spreading to other countries. The world is still dependent on hydrocarbons. China started switching to electric cars. They had to use more coal to generate electric power after the price of liquid natural gas spiked higher.

Somehow this reminds me of my children at about three years old who had yet to understand how ice cream got into the freezer and threw tantrums when they couldn't have it immediately.
