Perhaps I should explain something here. The article which I posted was an opinion piece from someone who I believe is a smart man. I posted his opinion piece because he asked a lot of good questions. However, I do wish that you wouldn't have made your response so personal towards me while at the same time appearing to bash and throw shade upon the people of the United States of America. It is preferable that we consider these questions, debate what we think about it, while at the same time doing so in a respectful manner towards one another on these forums.

Also, I do not completely agree with each and everyone of the implied answers from Victor David Hanson about his questions.

You are entitled to respect on a Christian forum, and I agree these debates should not get personal vis-à-vis the people in the discussion. But regarding Trump and co, it is personal, since these personal actors are responsible for the current chaos and indeed could end it with a few considered actions.

I do not believe they thought their strategy through well enough. They went for maximum emotional impact rather than effective results. A better strategy to improve America's trading position would have been a more friendly approach toward allies, bringing them on board with the real threat to fair trading from China and Russia, and other countries in Asia.

Although it looks like the stock market is mostly close back to the levels seen before the beginning of April, I am still very optimistic that the tariffs strategy of the Trump administration will result in positive growth for the USA and our allies in the long term. I believe that most of us recognize China is not our friend or our ally. China and also Russia dominance of world & European business markets should be reduced, big time, in my opinion. If that happens, then the USA & Europe & our allies across the world will reap excellent benefits.

you do know it's already started, 70% drop in tourism from canada, 20 or so % from EU canada/eu/uk/china are looking to buy and sell stuff elsewhere. Remind mere where is the US going to get the steel/aluminum and such it nees from canada, or rare earth metals from china?

There's an MSNBC video out that has a good summary. And as they point out, US tourism is the only commodity where America has a 100% trade surplus. And these figures are just for March, when a lot of people would still be locked in with bookings that can't be refunded. The long term impact will be more telling, let alone what it will do to the World Cup and Olympics.

This is a very weak reply. You are basically ignoring the claims that have been made, and appear to think that by simply labeling a person as a "globalist" that you have somehow given a legitimate response.
