i use the word chimera a lot to distinguish this idea of module-swapping from the nested hierarchical structure that life actually has.

i wonder if we could actually talk to them. their tongues dont have the ability to speak. maybe they could sign language but i doubt they could talk.

EDIT: for clarification, I wasn't supplying a definition for chimera. Just a statement.

I believe a chimera is the blending of two or more animals, basically two different genetic materials.

In the Final Fantasy video game series, Chimeras are three-headed beasts that have tri-magical powers and are often quite challenging to kill (especially at lower skill levels).
