  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So we are gonna re-do one of our bathrooms. We figured the first one we should do would be the guest bathroom...which is also Lilly's bathroom. But, what kind of theme? I thought of rubber duckies...still unsure about that one. The girly part of me would love to do princesses...or a cinderella type theme...but, if our next child is a boy...I don't think he would like that too much ^_^. I want something fun...I figured if we have a fun bathroom it would make potty training(a while from now) much more fun. The bathroom now is outdated...looks like from the 80s. I am not too concerned about guests...since it's mostly just family and Lilly will be the main one using it all the time. Got any tips on themes? Things to decorate in there? and really cheap places to get border and such. I also want the tub to be kid friendly to...with little kid fixtures. I am just starting and just thought I would ask if anyone has any cool ideas for themes. I only want to re-do it once for a while...so I think I would want it to be something she could grow into(we are planning on selling our house when she is seven...so something for that around that age...to grow into). I do think rubber duckies are timeless and cute...I seen lots of cute accessories to go with that theme at walmart.

A water theme but not someting too cutesy since it's also the guest bathroom. Duckies...I have my bathroom totally decked out in ducks :)

Water themes like differant kinds of water things like boats etc. Those wall sticker thingies are great so if you really want it girlie you can change it if you have a boy next time.

I did the "ducky" theme when Andie was first born, it was really cute! Now in the new house (which we just moved into this week, YAY! :p)....I took her to Wal-Mart & let her choose how to decorate it....she waffled between butterflies & dragonflies, we finally ended up with the dragonfly theme.

I kinda had the same feeling as Linnis....it's also the guest bath besides being Andie's, so I didn't want anything that was "TOO" kiddy, you know?

Our kids' bathroom is also the guest bathroom. We went with a "Monet" green and blue paint job (sponge painting one over the other) and have a couple of Monet posters in there. The curtain and rug are butterflies and then we added kid height towel hooks and a guest towel bar. With kids ranging from 11-2 right now, and with the guest issue, we didn't want to go too kiddy either. Best wishes!

ohhh...i like all the ideas. It really is hard to decide. I love to re decorate our house by means of like fabrics or accessories..but, paint and wallpaper...once it's there...it's there for awhile...because you have put so much money and time into it. That's why I am stuck on what theme to go with. I do like all the ideas though...I am a frog lover...so that one may not be a bad idea. But, then I keep leaning back to rubber duckies...cause they are just so cute. I also like the kings and queen one...but, I think border for it would be hard to find?
Hey andiesmama....glad to see your back....I think I know the dragonfly theme from wal-mart you are talking about...if it's the same one as we have here...it's very pretty.
