Well, all three of my girls have gotten the chicken pox in the past
2 weeks. Kaedmyn just broke out this morning and it is pretty bad. I am wondering what you think I should do, or if there is something you think that may help her. She has them inside her little vagina and she says that it hurts to pee. I am giving her lots of antihistamines and tylenol. But I don't know if that would help with the stinging.

Aww... poor baby.. my sisters and I all had chicken pox together too when we were small children. Zovirax given the first day after the breakout can help reduce symptoms.. not sure how often doctors use it.. around here it's not that common.. A bath with baking soda in it (4-8 oz) or an oatmeal bath might help alleviate the itch. Not much more you can do for chicken pox :( I'm sure having been through the chicken pox wringer now for a couple weeks you know to check with the doctor if the fever is very high or lasts more than a few days or if the blisters get infected.

Hope everyone is feeling better soon!!

Oh no, I am so sorry. I had chicken pox a few years ago and it was just awful. I can completely empathize. I also had a good case of poison oak which incidently caused me to get the chicken pox but that's a thread in itself LOL. Nothing much soothed me and I just had to ride it out.

(((hugs))) to your little ones

Just curious did you give them the vaccine?

Wish I had some words of advise or wisdom but this is one I haven't had to face yet.

I was talking to a Mom today that said that her pediatrician said that it is better if they get the chicken pox. My pediatrician said that they like to give the shot to prevent the side effects of chicken pox. It isn't necessarily to prevent them from happening. Quinlan had been given the shot and then got them anyway two weeks ago (but only about 20 spots or so) Then Aidan got them. Now Kaedmyn has them.

I have heard of them being that serious before. Like in the eyes, in the throat and inside the genetalia. We shall see how it goes. I will call the Dr if it is a real problem I guess. I just mixed some baking soda and water and rubbed it all over her. She has been taking her diaper off and dragging her bum across the carpet to scratch it HEH. Well, she hasn't in about half an hour. Maybe the antihistamine is kicking in.
