Well...I am very disappointed to say that I will probably never have a waffle fry again. What do you think? Is a Chick-fil-a boycott in order?

Mike Huckabee: Chick-fil-A 'surrendered to anti-Christian hate groups' and 'betrayed loyal customers'

has long championed Chick-fil-A in the face of attacks from the left but after the company's announcement Monday to stop donating to two Christian organizations, he has changed his tune.

The company announced it was donating to initiatives that further its “mission of nourishing the potential in every child.” It said that in 2020 it would stop donating to two Christian organizations, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and The Salvation Army, that have been accused by gay rights activists of having anti-LGBTQ views.

"In Aug. 2012, I coordinated a national Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day after they were being bullied by militant hate groups," the former Arkansas governor tweeted Monday. "Today, Chick-fil-A betrayed local customers for $$. I regret believing they would stay true to convictions of founder Truett Cathy. Sad."...

This is sad. I think we all have to realize, though, that without immense amounts of grace and strength, we, too, can cave. It's disappointing. Very.

But if nothing else, let's pray for grace and strength to say and do the right thing, when our time comes to speak out, or give a response.

No, it's not. Have you seen the lines at Chik-Fil-A? A boycott has minimal impact upon their business and accomplishes nothing other than depriving you of the best chicken sandwich ever.

I don't have CFA near me, but if I did I would boycott. This is just the beginning, as they expand into demographics that are more liberal.

A poster will still eat at this restaurant.

A poster will start eating at this restaurant again since it has finally stopped its anti-gay rhetoric.

Yep...you are the reason why they caved. Now hopefully after they see their sales plummet due to a drastic drop in Christian customers, they may stick to their traditional values.

Don't be so hard on them. They stood alone for years enduring scorn without caving in like all the rest of corporate America had already done. And then they finally caved in. Boycott them if you wish. But I hope you boycott ALL THE REST of corporate America first, every store that caved in years ago including your grocery store. As for me, I will not be running to Chick-Fil-A, but I will not boycott them either.

How long would you have resisted the anti-Christian hate groups if they were at your doorstep? That is the important thing to consider.

They sell chicken sandwiches, not salvation.
They sell chicken sandwiches as an establishment who espouses Christian values and ideals. They even play instrumental Christian worship music at their restraints. Now apparently they sell themselves out like a prostitute to get an extra buck.

This is a clear example of a idolatry. But to be fair, this is far too common today. Many people who call themselves "Christian" have compromised far more for far less. I just hope that they repent and are redeemed.

I didn't realize I had so much influence over an entire food chain restaurant. Go figure. If I have that much influence over Chick-Fil-A, then I should try to encourage other known anti-gay businesses to abandon their religious based prejudices too. I can just envision the positive impact I could have on advancing gay rights and equality in this country if I have that kind of an impact and influence.

They are now just another average restaurant in a very competitive market. They still have almost all of the same enemies and they lost lots of friends. Some former friends will boycott them now. I'd be selling shares if I had any.

Well in my opinion, since homosexuality doesn’t seem to be the main focus of Christianity, I think they still somewhat uphold those founding Christian values. I mean, if they start hosting gay weddings then I’d be more inclined to agree with you that they’ve abandoned who they are but simply deciding which charitable organizations to support or not is a business decision that I don’t think very many people are going to hold against them.

PR is just a part of doing business. Their concern with supporting these charities is no different than them concerning themselves with the profits of the business. If that’s idolatry, then I don’t know a single Christian owned business that can keep its doors open.

If you have noticed, most right wing Christians who complain about Chick-Fil-A "caving in" to LGBT have spent the last three years supporting and defending a twice divorced thrice married adulterer (who sexually groped multiple women and paid off a porn star to buy her silence) because he tickles their ears and politically panders to their preferred flavor of conservative/evangelical Christianity. The truth is, it's literally impossible to take any of their moral indignation over homosexuality (and other LGBT) even remotely serious. I just yawn nowadays when one of them stands up on their soapbox to rant against homosexuals and gay rights. I haven't taken any of them seriously for the last 3 years.

What baffles me is how do they distinguish a left wing from a right one when removing it from the bucket?

Yes...you do have influence. Maybe not so much by yourself. But in mass, you have influence. But let's just see how the response will be.

If you are referring to President Trump I recommend treading lightly. This is not the American Politics forum so it could be consider "off topic". Furthermore, I would highly encourage you to read the forum rules regarding flamming an elected official. Apparently it is goading their supporters.

They are not hosting gay weddings. Nor are they being forced to cater to one. Rather, they are going out of their way to fund LGBT organizations at the same time they are cutting donations to Christian charities.
