Has anyone seen it on Broadway?

I absolutely ADORE the movie... like I could watch it over and over and over again, and IM wondering if anyone has seen it on broadway?
How does it compare to the movie?
Im going back to NYC this jUne, and if its still playing I want to go see it. Or should I bother?

I saw the stage version a couple of years ago, and it's 100 times better than the film. I didn't really like the film- they cut out too many songs and messed around with it too much for my liking, imho...

They cut quite a few:
*A Little Bit of Good
*My Own Best Friend
*I Know A Girl
*Me and My Baby
*When Velma Takes the Stand

That's going on what's on 1995/6 Broadway Revival CD and what's on the Soundtrack of the Film... there were other things that annoyed me too- like Mary Sinshine being played by a woman, and Roxie singing in All That Jazz... And how they cut from real action to the stage! (I know some people loved it! I don't mean to offend, it's just my opinion. I wouldn't have directed it like that)

I loved the movie, but for me, nothing ever compares to the stage!!!

Definitely go see it on Broadway if you have a chance!!! You won't regret it!!!

As much as I loved the movie (and I've pretty much worn the DVD completely out!), the live, on stage version was so much better. I just live for that stuff though. heehee :D

i thought richard gere was okay. but i heard that the reason they switched from live action to the stage for the songs and stuff was because the director wanted to make it more believeable, and he thought that "young people" these days wouldnt think it was believeable if people started breaking into songs randomly, so they sort of made the songs part of roxie's fantasy-type-things. I, personally, would have belived it, and I assume that you other "young people" in here would have too, but maybe were just weird. or cool. one of those, lol.

my thoughts exactly. but i guess the director didnt think most people would agree with us, and i actually think he's right, cos a lot of my friends don't like musicals cos they think they're unrealistic. i know, i know, i really shouldn't be hanging out with people like that, but o well. haha jkjk ;)
