I am looking for a good easy cheeseball recipe.
I have made one but can't remember all I put in it.
I do know it had cream cheese, worcestershire sauce and was rolled in cut up dried beef.
I really want an easy one. I have found some that include blue cheese, which I don't like. And if possible, one that uses maybe onion salt or minced onion instead of having to cut up a bunch of green onions (like the one called for). Also, don't care for olives as I've seen in some recipes.
Don't know why I'm having so much trouble finding a simple, easy, good one.
Thanks!

Here's one I found on the AllRecipes site. I don't see why you couldn't use regular onion rather than green onion, and you could roll it in the beef or whatever you wanted to.

Southern Made Cheese Ball
"This delicious cheese ball was developed and modified by me, and every time I serve it I am forced to share the recipe with everyone who tastes it. I roll mine in diced green onion, pecans (or other nuts) or bacon bits before serving. Try experimenting with different types of meats and cheeses. It's a great appetizer for any party. This one will be gone first. Enjoy!!" Original recipe yield: 6 cups.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Creole-style seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 tablespoon creamy salad dressing, e.g. Miracle Whip ™
DIRECTIONS:
  1. In a large bowl, mix by hand cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, green onions, chili powder, Creole-style seasoning, Cheddar cheese, ham and creamy salad dressing. Form the mixture into one or more balls. Chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour before serving.

Here's one that sounds a lot like the one you had, also from AllRecipes. :)

Beef and Cheese Ball

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 5 ounces dried beef
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 1 small finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion juice
DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, 2/3 of the beef, onion, green bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and onion juice. Mix well and shape mixture into a ball. Using the reserved beef, coat the rest of the ball with beef.

And one more. This one also sounds good. I don't see why you can't just omit the olives :)

Cream Cheese and Chopped Dried Beef Ball

INGREDIENTS:
  • 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup black olives
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • onion salt
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • 1 pinch celery salt
  • 1 (4 ounce) jar dried beef, chopped
DIRECTIONS:

1.In a large bowl, combine the Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, olives, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt, garlic salt and celery salt. Mix until smooth. Shape into ball, wrap in foil, and refrigerate until needed.

2. About 30 minutes before serving, remove foil from cheese ball and reshape if necessary. Roll chopped beef to completely coat. Chill several hours or overnight.
