  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

. . . have you learned from Pepperoni to NEVER post any picture of yourself, unless it's microscopic?
Funny.

Well, how else is a girl to maintain her mysterious aura?

. . . tell me what I am doing wrong!
I have never posted a pic using the "attachment" option. I always upload it to photobucket first, and then copy and paste the image tags (like Wayne said, it's the 4th option below the picture you're selecting to post, it will say and then a URL and then [img] again. Copy the entire line). That's always worked for me. When you preview, the picture should show up, because what you see in the preview is exactly how it is going to look when you post. If you don't see a picture in the preview, you won't see one in the post.

It's really not as difficult as it sounds. And Cristianna gave me very good advice a while ago on how to size the pictures, here:[FONT=Book Antiqua][SIZE=3][quote=cristianna]Find and click on "Options" near the "max image size". The email setting is good-- small, but good. Message board is probably what everyone uses, and 15" screen is also good, but fairly large. Pick whatever you want your size to be. And click "Save".[/quote][FONT=Verdana][SIZE=2]I was using the e-mail setting for a while before I got [I]complaints[/I] that my pics were too small (I won't mention any names but I think we all know who I'm talking about here :P ).[/SIZE][/FONT][/SIZE][/FONT]

. . . I had another comment . . . but decided to quit while I'm ahead.

And speaking of pix . . . I finally figured out what this coyote reminds me of:

Doesn't it look like the Taco Bell dog? ^_^

Hi Red! Since everyone's posting pix, want to try your hand at it?

Well, my moderator application was denied. I think they're trying to tell me I didn't fill out the proper form, but I believe I did. They said I can re-submit using the new rules, but I'm actually relieved because with everything going on, I can't imagine any other responsibilities right now.

I posted this in my "Urgent Prayer Request" thread, but I'll mention it here since it's been brought up. They tried to take my Dad off the ventilator yesterday and he was struggling to breathe. I was on the phone w/my mom and she was trying to help him. It was the most awful sound in the world. All I can think of to compare is the suction noise when you're at the dentist. I lost it and started crying. Just hearing him struggle like that was terrible.

So they intubated him again and gave him more sedatives. Today I think they will just try to let the steroids bring down the swelling in his throat and tongue. My Mom said they might also do a tracheotomy, which I thought was perm but it's not. I can't believe it's been almost a week and he's still in ICU. Please continue those prayers. Thanks so much.

All I can do is  & :prayer:

I am sorry to hear it, but it really does sound like it's for the best. I think your Heavenly Father knows you have enough on your plate right now.

Continuing to pray. Hang in there!

Ok well here is the advice I have got back from the OP:
This poll is still not working. I even tried cutting and pasting the URL into the address bar, rather than clicking on the link and thus opening a separate window . . . still no dice! Frustrating!

Nice facebook Pete! Loved your pictures.

There has been a change in the protocol and as a result ALL applications have been returned.

I understand that you can re-apply and will be reconsidered under the new rules.

Don't be put off by that. Re-apply, we really DO need good Christian Mods.

That is if you don't mind being in an UY ministry as well as a UY marriage!

I will be happy to sponsor you again if you want to go forward with this.

Pete

Hi Red! Since everyone's posting pix, want to try your hand at it?

Ok. This is my first try - I had to go back and re-read Cristianna's photobucket tutorial. I hope this works...

Picture033.jpg

What you should be seeing is the view from the back deck of the place we stayed when we went to Edisto Island. Every morning we had a heron who would perch himself on the pier. The kids thought he was cool - he was much better at catching fish than we were. Notice a golf course in the background? DH didn't play any - he wanted to have a stress free vacation, lol.:D

Thanks to Christianna, Wayne, Pepper, Pete and everyone else who has so paitently explained how to post photos to this technophobe. I have an admission, I have had a mobile phone for 6 months now and I have no idea how to send text messages. I am glad you don't need a liscense to be online or I would fail lol.

Hi Red loved your picture.

Jill, I hope things improve soon still praying. I am praying about your reapplication to be a mod as well.

Pete, the holiday looks lovely. We are in mid winter over here so looking at everyone's holiday snaps is making me jealous. I remembered the quote I wanted to tell you yesterday. It helped me when I was so confused about leaving the church. Here it is.

"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope...build(ing) a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

Good afternoon everyone...starelda here, though I've changed my name. I've not liked that name for a while now so renewed my site supporter thingy to get the blessings to change it to something that is actually meaningful to me :)

But anyway, I just thought I'd pop in and say hello...see how you're all doing

I'm ok though have been facing uber-anxiety lately. I've no idea why that's rearing it's ugly head again but God is helping me through it. Even on the days when my head feels like it's going to explode with all the thoughts that are racing round it He seems to pull me through somehow.

In other news, I've now finished my degree. You may remember all the panic I had with all the problems with my project last year. Well that's all resolved and I passed with top marks :D Now I've got to face my driving test next week. The mock tests I've had have given me the jitters even though the only difference between those and a driving lesson is my instructor is sitting with a clipboard...maybe I just have a phobia of clipboards or something! :D I don't feel that nervous about it...I guess deep down I am thought because I had a dream featuring a driving test from hell last night. Then again, all my dreams lately have been horrible...an anxiety thing I guess.

But anyway, enough about me. How are all of you? What have you been up to lately?

Well, thanks to my fumble fingers I've lost another post. :( Oh well... I'll try again.

Jill, still praying for your Dad. I can understand your frustration that no one from the church has visited your Dad. Does anyone other than the Pastor know he's there? How's he doing now? Are you able to take any time off work?

Cristianna, it does sound like you've had medical training, as well as opportunities to observe the medical bureaucracy in "action." Thanks for your tech helps. My coworker told me yesterday that he's going to help drag me forward into the 18th century tech-wise. So keep your tips coming, please. Oh, and yes I received a clean bill of health at my dr.'s appt. Just a routine check to make sure I'm limiting sun damage, etc. Annual physical is next month. :preach: Everyone is getting annual physicals, right?:preach:

Red and Pete, thanks for the pix! I like seeing these small snapshots of your lives. Pete, I don't recognize the name of the place where you were. Is that in England?

Jenny, sorry but I couldn't read your link. Keep trying, okay? (I'll answer for Pep concerning the Taco Bell dog since she seems to be AWOL.) That's a reference to a series of commercials a few years ago by the fast-food company Taco Bell. They showed a little dog that spoke Spanish and English with a Spanish accent. Actually, the dog in the picture also understands some Spanish commands.

I was using the e-mail setting for a while before I got complaints that my pics were too small (I won't mention any names but I think we all know who I'm talking about here :p ).
They weren't too small. as long as you had a 48" monitor

. . . I had another comment . . . but decided to quit while I'm ahead.
Awww, too bad... I haven't been to the gun range for awhile. I could have used some target practice. :p

Hey Cory, you never told us how your trip went.

AIH, how's your studying coming? Still burning the candle at both ends?

Erica's at New Wine now I think. Kay is... somewhere on the North American continent  ... maybe.

Annette, I know you are getting frustrated over the happenings at CF... I miss the pictures you sometimes post.

Hi Lilium, I see you've posted while I've been composing. Great news on getting the degree straightened out and completed!

Hi to everyone who hasn't posted lately. I even saw Maxiii post a couple days ago. Hi Max.

Not much new here. Moved across the hall at work to a bigger office, but it's only temporary. Okay, time to go to work.
