It still has ape characteristics. Fur or no fur.
In this case, yes. That picture is of a regular chimpanzee suffering from alopecia.

That said, which characteristics make my chimpanzee "just a chimp" while your Planet of the Apes picture makes them, in theory, ape-men?

My ape men ride horses, live in houses, speak a language, have government, fire guns, and make and wear clothing. Your ape man lives in a zoo and makes animal noises. But they do both still have the same basic genetic characteristics.

It's no lie. They closely resemble each other but could easily have speciated like Darwins Finches. What are you afraid of?

They don't 'closely resemble each other.

For starters, Tiktaalik has a working neck. No other fish has that, including crocodile fish. If crocodile fish came from Tiktaalik, they would have the amphibious features that Tiktaalik does. They don't.

Besides that, 'crocodile fish' refers to an entire family of fish, with different sizes. So which specific one are you referring to?

OK, so let's see if I understand what you're getting at. Correct me if I've made a mistake:

In order for you to accept that humans evolved from apes, you would expect to find fossils of ape-like animals which showed evidence of human behaviour. We might expect to find, for example, a chimps-like skeleton surrounded by sewing needles made of bone, or necklaces made of sea-shells, or primative weapons.

Is that right?

So you are saying that our ancestors had to go from chimp-like to being fully intellectual humans in a single generation?

I am simply asking why we did not retain primate characteristics if we evolved. Characteristics/traits are inherited.

If you accept that, then why did you think crocodile fish were possibly descended from Tiktaalik? Tiktaalik has many features that they, nor any other fish, don't have.

Well, let's see.

-The aforementioned neck.
-Wrist bones.
-Finger-like rays
-Strong evidence that it had lungs.
-Completely different fin placement and bone structure.

But hey - the head looks kind of similar. So I guess that must mean they're the same thing.

If EternalDragon is classifying Australopithecine as ape animals, then it is quite easy to show that we have ape animal characteristics. The most obvious is our pelvis.

We have a pelvis just like Australopithecines and unlike chimps (P. troglodytes).

We did silly, we still have many of the same characteristics. Opposable thumbs for one thing, our eye position and position of most of our organs, we still have an extremely similar brain format to chimps and the like, our social habits are shockingly similar to those of chimps... And we didn't even evolve from chimps, we shared an ancestor with them that was closer to having both human and chimp traits.

The modern banana is the result of human cultivation. Also, chimps and many other apes are omnivores, and their diets aren't actually as different as that of humans as you might think.
