I know that when people come to the foot of the cross, it's usually because they know they are broken. They realize that they are sick, and hurting.
But when does that change? I'm asking this because I see so many Christians still hurting and confused, and they still remain sick and broken.

Why doesn't it seem that their new faith has made them whole? They say they are free, but they are still in chains.

The early church was fed to lions, they realize it would be painful, but they choosed to defend the truth instead of denying it for the escape of flesh.
Pray those lions away.

I wonder what the follow up is? they need to read their Bible and pray everyday, have fellowship with other Christians which is so important so they are part of the body of Christ.
Reading the Acts of the Apostles, I find that the Christians gathered together daily and prayed together.
This seems to be an opportunity to be more a 100% commitment...
I would be interested to hear other views...

I don't know, I guess there will be a solution though.

This is psychology. It is about a person's mind, their world view. These things take time to develop. There is an instant change the moment we stop resisting The Holy Spirit: that we are relieved of the wrath of God. We have a sense of peace that we can only have when we have stopped fighting Him. But the moment we yield ourselves to His way of thinking, so that our thoughts are accepting of His teaching, then He begins to build upon our knowledge and character to change us into the person He wants us to become. Those are things that take time to develop.

Also it can be said that the time that we depart from The Holy Spirit and begin resisting the truth, over time that spirit destroys our character and corrupts our knowledge. This ties in well with John 10:10.

:hug::hug: Come now, some hurts take while to heal. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear holds punishment, and he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

The issue is belief. You have to cast your care on Him and leave there. You have to ask for healing and believe that He is and that HE is a rewarder to them that diligently seek him.

The blind man believed In Jesus and that he could heal him......But Jesus still asked him two questions:
1. What would you have me do?
2. Believe thou that I can do this?

No one has to stay in any condition they dont desire to be in, but it is ok to stay in any condition as long as you want to.

Who desires to be sick? Nobody , it's counter productive. What do you say about those who pray to Jesus, believe with their whole heart but are still suffering some condition.

I dont believe that is it Possible to pray to Jesus And believe with your whole heart and your prayer not get answered. Jesus and the bible states otherwise. Let every man be a liar but Gods word be true.

Also it is not possible for one man to know what is in the anothers heart, or how much another person believes. we can only speak for ourselves.

If one has faith or is willing to accept the possibility of what Im saying to be true....I would advise studying how to pray. There are specific methods to follow in the gospels and thought the bible.

We can perish for lack of knowledge.

Weird. Oh man, weird. Not you, my head.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this brother of ours, who has been through so much and now he is coming toward your glorious light. I thank you Lord, because he has a real genuine love in his heart .. after all the hurts, he still is able to forgive! That is something special. Lord, he has encountered some perspective of your love that is radical and unexpected, it is hard for him to believe, and being so foreign to all that he has come to believe about your character and the way you are portrayed by those who misuse your name, Lord God, our brother is at risk of not grasping hold of that opportunity you have given him, to reach out to you in faith, trusting that you are good, and asking for a real relationship with the only one who saves. Dear Jesus, it is you and not I who knows the true depths of where his mind has wandered, into the realms of the devil's mischaracterisation of you through the deceitfulness and naiivety of those who seek to have relationship with you and who mistakenly follow flattering false teachers. Lord God, I pray with our brother here, that you will keep in his mind the reality that all who do truly know you have found that you are good, that you love, that there is no malicious or untrustworthy thing about you. I pray that you will cause his wisdom to grow even stronger still, that he will be confident in his ability and his right, to be cautious about those who teach questionably in Your Name, and give him a new realisation too: that as he does dig deeper into this issue of the apostasy and find out how vast, delicate yet severe it has become, that You are with him and for him in his pursuit of the truth. Make it become that our brother cannot even consider that anyone else possesses a right to teach him, but instead bring him to reach out to you for those things. So now we submit these requests to you, Heavenly Father, asking that you will lift the feelings of hopelessness and confusion from him, and instead lay upon him a feeling of peace and understanding, a new knowledge, that he cannot obtain salvation from any other than you. Stir up his confidence, Lord, to open the scriptures in faith that when he does so, you are not going to harm him, but you will speak to him. We pray this in Jesus' name, that our brother can receive the blessing of your salvation to your glory. Amen.

Brother, I just felt that a prayer was the right response to that. I hope you will not fall back from your pursuit of the truth. It occurred to me while praying this, that you've really gone a long way into the depths of the delusion of the apostasy, and you are encountering a very radical difference in perspective of what the holy scriptures really teach. Who is able to really measure the contrast between light and darkness? Yet, the light of God's holiness is so perfect that He has to veil it from us in order that we are not consumed by it. Because of that, I do strongly suggest that you will visit Him in the scriptures, so that He can speak tenderly to your heart in the most perfect way.

Well, if the promise is that they will find rest and healing in coming into relationship with God through Christ and they haven't, then either the promise is false or the relationship doesn't exist. I'm betting the latter rather than the former. God doesn't lie.

Why doesn't it seem that their new faith has made them whole? They say they are free, but they are still in chains.

Usually because they haven't been given the full Gospel and/or properly discipled. The great majority of people calling themselves disciples of Christ, Christians, are no such thing.

Selah.

Not really, you explain it to me.
I can't just make that guess! .. We should be able to figure it out though.

You said that you found my response to be unexpected. Why is it that you don't understand why you found it to be unexpected? Did you expect my response to be somewhat different? If so, can you explain how my response was different to your expectation?

It's their faith that makes them whole right? So do these Christians not have real faith in Jesus? He only said a tiny amount of faith would cure you, so I'd expect that lots of Christians would be made whole.
